TRANSFER PORTAL

Pat Coogan – C – Notre Dame: Coogan is a 6’5″, 310-pounder who has spent most of the past two seasons starting for the Fighting Irish. A fifth year senior, he was a starting guard in 2023 and a starting center in 2024, earning grades of 66.1 and 72.1, respectively, from Pro Football Focus. Initially slated to be a backup at center in 2024, he ended up starting most of the year due to an injury to the starter. Coogan was expected to be a backup again in 2025 despite playing over 1,500 snaps in the past two seasons, so he hit the transfer portal for his one remaining season of eligibility. He was a 3-star, the #42 interior offensive lineman, and #613 overall coming out of Chicago (IL) Marist in 2021. UPDATE: Coogan committed to Indiana and will no longer be visiting Michigan.

Chase Herbstreit – QB – Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier: Herbstreit has already committed to Michigan (LINK) but will take his official visit this weekend.

Raheem Anderson II – C – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Anderson is a 6’3″, 298 lb. prospect with offers from Kentucky, LSU, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #3 center, and #211 overall. It has been a few classes since Michigan signed a Cass Tech player (2017, to be exact) for whatever reason, but Michigan has 60% of the crystal ball picks.

Josh Bryant – RB – Middletown (OH) Middletown: Bryant is a 5’10”, 192-pounder with offers from Akron, Ball State, and Miami-OH. He’s a 247 Sports 2-star, the #124 running back, and #1559 overall.

Pat Coogan – OT – Chicago (IL) Marist: Coogan is a 6’5″, 275 lb. prospect with offers from Illinois, Michigan, Oregon, and Stanford, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #43 offensive tackle, and #453 overall.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2021

Ryan Barnes – CB – Gaithersburg (MD) Quince Orchard: Barnes is a 6’2″, 175 lb. prospect with offers from Georgia and LSU, among others. He’s currently unranked. Michigan is hitting Quince Orchard hard this cycle, with offers out to defensive tackle Marcus Bradley and linebacker Demeioun Robinson, too.

Tristan Bounds – OT – Wallingford (CT) Choate Rosemary Hall: Bounds is a 6’7″, 258-pounder with offers from Maryland and West Virginia, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #64 offensive tackle, and #671 overall. He also has an offer from Virginia Tech, where his mother worked and where he was born. Bounds fit the mold of the long, lanky tackle that I like, so I think ranking at #671 overall is too low.

J.T. Carver – K – Martin (TN) Westview: Carver is a 5’9″, 180 lb. prospect. He’s ranked as Chris Sailer’s #26 kicker in the class and as a 4.5-star. Carver is a teammate of 2022 quarterback Ty Simpson, and both received a visit from Jim Harbaugh last week.
