I would appreciate any support you can offer through Amazon purchases (LINK):

Let’s see more of this guy on offense . . . Shea Patterson. Michigan took Patterson off the field a couple times to run a single wing type of look near the goal line. Michigan has been doing this the past few weeks with Zach Charbonnet and/or Hassan Haskins. I groan every time I see it because it’s so predictable. I’ll give you a hint: it’s not a pass. Michigan isn’t even running any motion with it to give the look of a jet sweep or power read. At least leave Patterson on the field to have the threat of motion or a double pass or something. Maybe this is just to put something in Ohio State’s mind to consider in a couple weeks, but right now it’s not doing much.

Michigan 44, Michigan State 10

That was a beatdown. We’ll get that way out of the way first. The game was closer than that for a while – especially after MSU jumped out to a 7-0 lead – but Michigan pulled away with 17, 10, and 17 points in the final three quarters, respectively. The Spartans ended up with 54 rushing yards and 220 yards overall, while Michigan had 467 total yards, including 384 through the air.

Michigan 45, Notre Dame 14

Michigan beat a top-10 team. I normally don’t pay much attention to rankings. I pay attention to teams. So when people make a big deal about “Jim Harbaugh has a 1-10 record against top-10 teams at Michigan” or whatever the hell that stat is/was, it just doesn’t mean much to me. What’s his overall record? And has he beaten PSU, MSU, Wisconsin, and OSU? And Notre Dame? Those are the teams you can count on year in and year out to be good to great, and those are the measuring stick games. Sometimes they’re the top-10 squads and sometimes they’re not, but rankings are so subjective that they just don’t matter to me.

Michigan vs. Penn State Awards

Let’s see more of this guy on offense . . . Ronnie Bell. Maybe this is an emotional reaction to the backlash Bell received for dropping the potential game-tying or game-winning pass on Saturday night, but I thought the kid played very well overall. He caught 5 passes for 82 yards, he blocks, and he earns yards after the catch. He’s Michigan’s version of Julian Edelman. And yes, that means he’s Michigan’s best receiver.

Penn State 28, Michigan 21

This was Shea Patterson’s best game. Patterson has taken a lot of criticism this season, and some people were still clamoring for backup Dylan McCaffrey – or even Joe Milton – to start. I thought this was Patterson’s best game this season by far, and one of his top few performances as a Wolverine overall. His numbers weren’t great (24/41 for 276 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT; 12 carries, 34 yards, 1 TD), but part of that was due to drops and general refereeing inefficiency. Donovan Peoples-Jones dropped two passes and Ronnie Bell dropped one, and there were a couple pass interference calls that should have been called against Penn State but weren’t, resulting in incompletions. Patterson had one truly bad throw, and that was the interception.
