DECOMMITMENT

Amauri Pesek-Hickson – LB – Leawood (KS) Blue Valley North: Pesek-Hickson decommitted from Michigan after realizing/learning that Michigan was offering a grayshirt opportunity and wants transfer defensive linemen instead of linebackers. He ended up signing with Kansas.

OFF THE BOARD

Jonathan Allen – OT – Dayton (OH) Dunbar: Allen committed to Cincinnati.

Khris Bogle – DE – Fort Lauderdale (FL) Cardinal Gibbons: Bogle flipped from Alabama to Florida in a somewhat surprising move after committing to Alabama at the All-American Bowl. He’s the #71 overall player in the class.

Jerrion Ealy – RB – Flowood (MS) Jackson Prep: Flowood, a former Mississippi State commit, was expected to go to Clemson but ended up signing with Ole Miss. He was a 5-star and the lone standout running back at the Under Armour All-American Game.

Kaiir Elam – CB – Palm Beach Gardens (FL) Benjamin: Elam committed to Florida.

Isaiah Foskey – DE – Concord (CA) De La Salle: Foskey committed to Notre Dame as a defensive end. Michigan had been looking at him as a tight end. Foskey is a former teammate of one-time Michigan tight end Devin Asiasi, who is now at UCLA.

Demarcus Griffin – CB – Charlotte (NC) Olympic: Griffin committed to Utah State.

Daequan Hardy – CB – Pittsburgh (PA) Penn Hills: Hardy signed with Penn State.

Jared Harrison-Hunte – DT – Middle Village (NY) Christ the King: Harrison-Hunte committed to Miami.

Ira Henry – OG – St. Louis (MO) Trinity Catholic: Henry committed to Florida State.

Danielson Ike – OT – Kansas City (MI) Rockhurst: Ike committed to SMU.

Dawand Jones – OT – Indianapolis (IN) Ben Davis: Jones blew up late in the recruiting cycle and picked Ohio State over Florida State, Michigan, Oregon, and USC, among others.

Tavian Mayo – CB – Leesburg (GA) Lee County: Mayo signed with West Virginia.

Lloyd Murray, Jr. – DT – Wichita Falls (TX) Hirschi: Murray signed with Colorado.

Adonis Otey – CB – Murfreesboro (TN) Blackman: Otey flipped from Arkansas to USC.

George Pickens – WR – Hoover (AL) Hoover: Pickens flipped from Auburn to Georgia. This was probably the biggest newsmaker of National Signing Day when the long-time Auburn commit picked the Bulldogs. He’s a 5-star and #24 overall in the class.

Matthew Pola-Mao – DT – Chandler (AZ) Chandler: Pola-Mao committed to Kansas State.

Garmon Randolph – TE – Jefferson (GA) Jefferson: Randolph committed to Baylor.

Jammie Robinson – S – Leesburg (GA) Lee County: Robinson committed to South Carolina.

Joshua Sanguinetti – S – Fort Lauderdale (FL) University School: Sanguinetti committed to Indiana. The Hoosiers signed three 4-star prospects, and that doesn’t include Sanguinetti, who’s #417 overall in the class.

Ishmael Sopsher – DT – Amite (LA) Amite: Sopsher committed to Alabama.

Jaquaze Sorrells – DT – Winter Park (FL) Winter Park: Sorrells committed to South Carolina.

Reddy Steward – CB – Decatur (AL) Austin: Steward committed to Troy.

Henry To’oto’o – LB – Concord (CA) De La Salle: To’oto’o committed to Tennessee after being expected to sign with Alabama.

David Ugwoegbu – TE – Katy (TX) Seven Lakes: Ugwoegbu signed with Oklahoma.

Christian Williams – S – Daphne (AL) Daphne: Williams committed to Miami.

Tyrece Woods – DE – Belleville (MI) Belleville: Woods, a former Michigan commit, picked Buffalo.

Ex-Wolverine Commit Updates: Post-2018 Recap

Damien Harris (image via Stadium)

FORMER COMMITS

George Campbell III, WR (Florida State): Campbell struggled once again with injuries, and when he was healthy, he played in seven games and ended with 4 catches for 42 yards on the year. Florida State went 5-7.

Shaun Crawford, CB (Notre Dame): Crawford missed the entire season with a torn ACL, the third ACL injury of his football career.

Messiah DeWeaver, QB (East Mississippi Community College): DeWeaver completed 181/266 passes (68%) for 1,735 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions; he also ran 88 times for 110 yards (1.3 YPC) and 2 touchdowns. EMCC went 12-0 and won the NJCAA national championship. At the time of this 247 Sports article, he had scholarship offers to play for Akron, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Louisiana-Lafayette, Ole Dominion, Southern Mississippi, and Toledo; he just announced on Twitter a couple days ago that he would be transferring to Old Dominion.

Tyrece Woods, Ex-Wolverine

Tyrece Woods

Belleville (MI) Belleville defensive end/defensive tackle Tyrece Woods decommitted from Michigan on Thanksgiving. Woods had committed to Michigan in the middle of August (LINK).

Air Force, Cincinnati, Fresno State, Temple, and a bunch of MAC programs had offered Woods prior to his committing to Michigan, and I would assume some other programs would try to jump on board to try to grab a former Michigan commitment. 247’s Clint Brewster had put in a crystal ball for Cincinnati just a few days before he picked the Wolverines, so maybe there’s some lingering mutual interest between Woods and the Bearcats.

On Michigan’s end of things, there are several other defensive line recruits already committed: DE Chris Hinton, DT Mazi Smith, DE David Ojabo, DE Mike Morris, and DE Gabe Newburg. Rumors are growing stronger that Ohio DE Zach Harrison is going to pick Michigan, while Indiana DE George Karlaftis could flip from Purdue if Boilermakers head coach Jeff Brohm leaves for Louisville (or anywhere else). Woods was Michigan’s lowest rated commit by far at #1685; the next lowest is LB Joey Velazquez at #984. The Wolverines now have 25 commits in the 2019 class.
