Olathe (KS) North safety Isaiah Simmons

Nick Eubanks – TE – Plantation (FL) American Heritage: Eubanks is a 6’6″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #15 tight end, and #366 overall. Michigan was thought to be out of the running at one point, but things have heated up between the two parties over the last week. He will be in Ann Arbor on Wednesday and Thursday.

Lavert Hill – CB – Detroit (MI) King: Hill is a 5’10”, 172 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, and Penn State, among others; those are his three finalists. The former Penn State commit is a 247 Composite 4-star, the #12 cornerback, and #135 overall. He plans to announce on National Signing Day. This is an unofficial visit.

Isaiah Simmons – S – Olathe (KS) North: Simmons is a 6’3″, 205 lb. prospect with offers from Clemson, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, and Nebraska, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #16 safety, and #327 overall. He picked up a Michigan offer just a couple weeks ago, and he’s taking a mid-week visit to Ann Arbor since he plans to officially visit Clemson this coming weekend.

We have not heard much about Eubanks or Simmons. Thunder, what is your impression of them? How serious is their interest in Michigan?

I would say they’re both pretty interested if they’re cramming in mid-week visits this late in the process. You never know. Sometimes things turn out like Roquan Smith. Sometimes things turn out like Shelton Johnson. I think we could use another tight end, and Eubanks is a pretty good prospect. I’m not quite sure where Simmons fits, whether he’s a safety or a linebacker. He could be kind of a backup plan for the Jordan Fuller situation. He’s a good prospect, but not as athletic as Fuller.
