Today’s recruiting update includes 2017, 2018, and 2019 prospects. Because of the plethora of offers extended over the past week, I had to make the 2016 update a separate post yesterday (LINK). This may happen more often with the Wolverines offering players at a faster rate than the previous regimes.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2017
Fort Lauderdale (FL) American Heritage running back Kyshaun Bryan was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’11”, 185 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #8 running back, and #68 overall. As a sophomore in 2014, he had 825 yards rushing, averaged 8.4 yards/carry, and scored 7 touchdowns. Bryan is a speedy back with good cutting ability and vision. American Heritage is a football powerhouse, and they sent numerous plays to the FBS in 2015, including defensive back Tarvarus McFadden (Florida State) and quarterback Torrance Gibson (Ohio State). Two of his 2017 classmates also picked up offers from Michigan in Kai-Leon Herbert and Tedarrell Slaton (see below).

Holmdel (NJ) St. John Vianney offensive tackle Micah Clark was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 265 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Penn State, and Rutgers, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #9 offensive tackle, and #69 overall. Clark is a pretty lanky kid right now who could probably be a strongside end or defensive tackle if he worked on his body and technique properly. As things stand, it looks like he will probably be a left tackle in the future. Penn State leads right now, but Alabama and Michigan just came in recently, so he might let things play out for a while before deciding.

Cypress (TX) Cy-Fair offensive tackle Austin Deculus was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 275 lb. prospect with offers from Baylor, Illinois, and Texas Tech. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #16 offensive tackle, and #98 overall. Deculus is a powerful blocker who has the ability to stay low and blow people off the ball. His classmate, tight end Brock Wright, picked up an offer from Michigan a couple weeks ago. Both attend the alma mater of former Michigan running back Sam McGuffie.

Hit the jump for several more new offers and some miscellaneous bits.

Cleveland Heights (OH) Cleveland Heights wide receiver Jaylen Harris was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 210 lb. prospect with an offer from Kentucky. Harris has a long frame and decent speed, but he needs to work on becoming a more natural pass catcher. He is still early in his recruitment, but Ohio State is thought to be the front-runner if they offer. Cleveland is very pro-Buckeye and tough to pull from, but without any elite prospects the past few years, the last time the Buckeyes got someone from the school was in 2012 with offensive lineman Kyle Dodson.

Fort Lauderdale (FL) Cardinal Gibbons wide receiver Leroy Henley was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 175 lb. prospect with offers from Cal, Miami, Rutgers, and West Virginia, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #41 wide receiver, and #250 overall. As a sophomore in 2014, he caught 52 passes for 740 yards and 9 touchdowns. For being such a young guy, Henley is a very adept route runner with good hands and speed. I would not be surprised to see him move up in the rankings.

Fort Lauderdale (FL) American Heritage offensive tackle Kai-Leon Herbert was offered by Michigan. A teammate of Bryan’s (see above), Herbert is 6’4″, 260 lbs. and also holds offers from Cal, Maryland, and Michigan. Herbert is very raw with his footwork and technique, but the athleticism is apparent and he can be dominant when he wants to be. There are occasions in his highlights where smaller guys overpower him because of his lack of technique, so he has a lot of work to do.

Phoenix (AZ) North Canyon offensive tackle Austin Jackson was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 260 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona State, Utah, and Washington, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #5 offensive tackle, and #33 overall. As a sophomore in 2014, he had 27 pancakes on offense; he added 56 tackles and 5 sacks on defense. Jackson has good athleticism and pretty solid technique, though he is clearly more refined on offense than defense.

Gilbert (AZ) Highland “wide receiver” Tyler Johnson was offered by Michigan. Listed at 6’4″, 245 lbs., he has offers from Arizona and Arizona State, too. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #6 tight end, and #253 overall. Johnson plays wideout for his high school team, but he is more likely to play tight end or maybe defensive end in college. He shows some very good athleticism for his size, can high-point the ball, and can outrun a lot of his opponents.

Scottsdale (AZ) Saguaro offensive guard Kayden Lyles was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 290 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and UCLA, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #3 offensive guard, and #167 overall. Lyles plays right tackle for his high school team, but he probably does not have the feet to remain at tackle in college. His teammate is 2016 cornerback Byron Murphy, who also received an offer from Michigan last week.

Steubenville (OH) Steubenville tight end Charles Reeves, Jr. was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 230 lb. prospect whose lone offer is from the Wolverines. Somewhat like Tyler Johnson, Reeves is a jumbo receiver who will transition to tight end at the next level. Reeves is long-armed and can high-point the ball (he’s also a standout basketball player), and he can probably add another 20 lbs. or so pretty easily.

Denton (TX) Guyer quarterback Shawn Robinson was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 195 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #1 dual-threat quarterback, and #10 overall. As a sophomore in 2014, he was 145/238 for 2,799 yards, 33 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions; he also ran for 1,416 yards and 17 touchdowns. He claims a 4.6 forty. The Longhorns are the odds-on favorite for his services, and it would be quite a surprise if he spurned them.

Fort Lauderdale (FL) American Heritage offensive tackle Tedarrell Slaton was offered by Michigan. The teammate of Bryan and Herbert (see above), he’s a 6’4″, 341 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Miami, and Ole Miss, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #4 offensive tackle, and #17 overall. Slaton has some bad weight on him right now and can get himself a little overextended. He’s either a right tackle or a guard at the next level. He’s a good prospect, but I think where 247 Sports has him at #17 overall is probably too high.

Warren (MI) De La Salle running back Allen Stritzinger was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 183 lb. prospect with offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, and some MAC programs. As a sophomore in 2014, he had 244 carries for 1,356 yards and 20 touchdowns; he also caught 9 passes for 238 yards and 1 touchdown. Stritzinger is a speed back (he claims a 4.50 forty) who could also project to wide receiver, cornerback, or safety, although I like him as a running back. He needs to add some weight if he wants to hold up, though. Stritzinger is a teammate of Eric Rogers (the brother of former Michigan cornerback James Rogers) and attends the alma mater of current Wolverines Jack Wangler, Jared Wangler, and Shane Morris.

Fort Lauderdale (FL) Cardinal Gibbons safety Daniel Wright was offered by Michigan. A teammate of Henley’s, Wright is a 6’2″, 175 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Clemson, LSU, and Miami, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #6 safety, and #115 overall. He claims a 4.48 forty, and despite still being somewhat slim, he packs quite a punch as a tackler. He’s the younger brother of safety Major Wright, who attended Florida before getting drafted by the Chicago Bears (he’s now a Tampa Bay Buccaneer).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018
Jacksonville (FL) Bartram Trail quarterback Joey Gatewood was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 206 lb. prospect with offers from Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, South Carolina, and USC, among others. Gatewood is the first quarterback to be offered by Michigan in the class, but there are lots of rumors that it’s only a matter of time before he commits to Florida State. Maxpreps has him completing just 33/73 passes for 362 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception, plus a ground game that included 659 yards and 6 touchdowns (LINK). Regardless of stats, Gatewood carries himself like a senior on the football field, throws a nice ball, and is a pretty good runner.

Jacksonville (FL) Providence wide receiver Will Mallory was offered by Michigan. Mallory is the son of former Michigan linebacker Mike Mallory (which makes him the nephew of now-departed safeties coach Curt Mallory). I have been unable to find highlights or statistics for Mallory except for catching a few touchdown passes for the varsity team during his freshman season. One random tidbit: Providence is the alma mater of Duke basketball player Grayson Allen and former Florida basketball player Patric Young.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019
Daytona Beach (FL) Warner Christian wide receiver Blake Hinson was offered by Michigan. Hinson is a 6’5″, 200 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Miami, and North Carolina. He’s the younger brother of 2016 prospect Evan Hinson, who received a Michigan offer at the same time. Blake played varsity this past season against some clearly overmatched players, and while he shows some impressive skills as a receiver, he could easily outgrow the position and turn into a tight end or defensive end at the next level.

MISCELLANEOUS
Pittsburgh (FL) Seton-La Salle safety Paris Ford has a top three that includes Michigan. He says his top school goes back and forth between Penn State and Michigan, although Michigan currently sits second.

COMMITMENT
Cornerbacks coach Mike Zordich confirmed that Wayne Lyons will be joining the team this season, so I wrote up a commitment post (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2015(?)
Concord (CA) De La Salle safety Je’Vari Anderson is still a possibility to join Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 200 lb. prospect who’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #63 safety, and #902 overall. I talked about him a couple weeks ago as a guy who was talking about joining the Wolverines but needs a qualifying test score. He has listed offers from Cal, Oregon State, and Utah, but his Twitter account still says “THE MISSION IS GOO!! BLUE!!” with a giant picture of the Michigan banner (LINK). I mention him again this week because the deadline to sign a National Letter of Intent is Wednesday, April 1. He could still end up playing for Michigan without the NLI, but he would not be able to practice with the team until the first day of classes. For his sake – and for the team’s, since I think he’s a better prospect than his rankings/offers indicate – I hope he gets good results and can fax in his NLI before the deadline. It might also help with Michigan’s recruitment of two of Anderson’s 2016 teammates, tight end Devin Asiasi and center Boss Tagaloa.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2016
Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek wide receiver Korey Banks, Jr. was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 170 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas State, Colorado State, and Western Michigan, among others. He visited this past weekend with a couple Lawrenceville (GA) Archer prospects for 2017, Isaiah Pryor and Jamyest Williams, who already held Michigan offers. Banks claims a 4.26 forty and is a track guy. Some teams are looking at him as a corner, but Jedd Fisch was the one to offer him, which implies that Michigan wants him at receiver.

Hit the jump for several more 2016 prospects, some 2017 prospects, an offer for 2018, and some miscellaneous bits.

Rancho Cucamonga (CA) Los Osos offensive tackle Cohl Cabral was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 250 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona State, Cal, Utah, and Washington State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #20 offensive tackle, and #203 overall. Cabral has good feet and could play either tackle or guard at the next level. He has also been recruited by some schools as a defensive end, although I think that’s a stretch unless he would be in a 3-4 system.

Gordo (AL) Gordo linebacker Ben Davis was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, and numerous others. He’s a 247 Composite 5-star, the #4 outside linebacker, and #22 overall. He claims a 4.6 forty. He is widely expected to attend Alabama.

Pembroke Pines (FL) Flanagan safety Devin Gil, a Miami commit, was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 205 lb. prospect who also has offers from Louisville and Marshall, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #76 safety, and #1202 overall. As a junior in 2014, he made 64 tackles and 3 interceptions. Depending on how his body develops, he could end up as an outside linebacker at the next level. He is a teammate of fellow offeree Devin Bush, Jr., who visited Michigan this past weekend, although Gil was not on campus. Gil committed to Miami back in January, but he is still open to being courted by other schools, so there’s a chance to pull him away.

Hallandale (FL) Hallandale wide receiver Joshua Hammond was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Florida State, Nebraska, and Washington, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #59 wide receiver, and #343 overall. As a junior in 2014, he caught 25 passes for 413 yards and 6 touchdowns. He received an offer early in the week and immediately scheduled an unofficial visit, since he was going to be in the midwest visiting Notre Dame and Ohio State, anyway.

Orchard Lake (MI) St. Mary’s offensive guard Cameron Kolwich was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 270 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan and Missouri, among others. He is currently unranked. Back in February I ranked him as the #13 prospect in the state (LINK), which was higher than several prospects with more offers. He plays tackle in high school, but he projects to offensive guard, where I think he has the potential to be a pretty solid lineman at the BCS level. He’s a teammate of 2017 linebacker Joshua Ross, who also has a Michigan offer.

Farmington (MI) Farmington linebacker David Reese, a Louisville commit, was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 235 lb. prospect whose other offers are from Indiana, Pitt, and some MAC schools. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #23 inside linebacker, and #685 overall. I was not expecting Reese to get an offer from Michigan, at least not this early. There has been some chatter about him moving to defensive end in college, since some think he might not have the quickness to remain at linebacker; however, it’s not often that 6’1″ defensive ends make an impact in college. There is a possibility that he is being recruited for the fullback position, since Michigan loses two fullbacks after this season (Joe Kerridge, Sione Houma) and does not have any other experienced players at the position. Reese is a teammate of fellow Michigan offeree (and Louisville commit) Desmond Fitzpatrick, a wide receiver. Both have visited Michigan numerous times, and it would be somewhat surprising if they did not choose to stay home.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2017
Mansfield (OH) Madison safety Tyrell Ajian was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Miami-OH and Toledo. He claims a 4.4 forty and a 35″ vertical. Also a standout receiver, Michigan wants him to play free safety. Ajian does have very good speed and will certainly pick up some other big-time offers before long.

Paramus (NJ) Catholic defensive end Corey Bolds was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 260 lb. prospect whose only other offer so far came from Rutgers. He does not have particularly impressive film, so this offer surprises me a little bit so early in the process. Bolds is the teammate of 2016 defensive tackle Rashan Gary, and both of them visited this weekend (see below for visitors list). Their former high school coach, Chris Partridge, is now a recruiting coordinator for Michigan.

Stafford (TX) Stafford wide receiver Hezekiah Jones was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 185 lb. prospect with offers from Baylor, TCU, and Texas A&M, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #11 wide receiver, and #61 overall. As a sophomore in 2014, he caught 28 passes for 551 yards and 6 touchdowns, plus a kickoff return score. He claims a 4.4 forty and a 32″ vertical. Jones is a crafty runner who does a good job of breaking tackles, catches passes while defensive backs interfere, and has good speed in the open field.

Akron (OH) Hoban running back Todd Sibley, Jr. was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’11”, 205 lb. prospect with offers from Kentucky and Ohio State. He claims a 4.51 forty. As a sophomore in 2014, he averaged 8.2 yards/carry on his way to 1,576 yards and 17 touchdowns. He’s not a true blazer, but he has the stout build of Michigan State’s recent running back standouts, guys who are built low to the ground and are tough to take down. Hoban’s quarterback, 2017 prospect Danny Clark, used to attend Massillon (OH) Washington with Michigan freshman kicker Andrew David; Clark is now committed to Ohio State. The Buckeyes and Wolverines are at the top of Sibley’s list.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018
Indianapolis (IN) Cathedral offensive guard Emil Ekiyor was given his first offer by Michigan. Ekiyor is a 6’3″, 285 lb. prospect who claims a 5.1 forty. He is the son of Emil Ekiyor, a Nigerian immigrant who played defensive end at Central Florida and then in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons.

OFF THE BOARD
Rancho Santa Margarita (CA) Rancho Santa Margarita quarterback K.J. Costello committed to Stanford. The writing was on the wall that he would pick Stanford or perhaps USC over Michigan once his repeated promises to visit Michigan fell through. He had visited Michigan last summer and was reportedly close to committing at the time, but Brady Hoke convinced him to take his time, allowing Messiah DeWeaver to commit first.

Temecula (CA) Great Oak running back Demetric Felton committed to UCLA. Felton is a very speedy, surprisingly tough runner who could also play receiver at the next level. He expressed initial interest in visiting Michigan but never planned a visit.

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy defensive end Rahshaun Smith committed to Clemson. Smith is originally from Maryland and initially had Michigan high on his list, but a mid-year transfer to Florida seemed to alter his recruitment a little bit. By the time he was ready to commit, Michigan was no longer on his list.

MISCELLANEOUS
I posted a huge list of visitors from this past week/weekend (LINK).

I also posted an early spring game visitors list (LINK). And speaking of the spring game, I also did a mock draft of the two teams (LINK).

Notre Dame center Matt Hegarty has been granted a full release from the program to transfer as a fifth-year graduate. There have not been strong indications that Michigan is in the mix, but it’s a possibility for a team that lost its starting center (Jack Miller) and whose backup (Graham Glasgow) is going through some legal issues. Hegarty visited Florida State last weekend, and the Seminoles are in a better scholarship situation (80 right now, whereas Michigan is at the limit of 85). The Wolverines recruited Hegarty as part of the 2011 class out of Aztec (NM) Aztec, where he was a Rivals 4-star, the #6 offensive tackle, and #70 overall.

TRANSFER
Blake O’Neill – P – Weber State:
Quarterback Jake Rudock from Iowa visited last weekend, and now it’s O’Neill’s turn. O’Neill is a graduate transfer prospect who’s a 6’2″, 215 lb. punter. He averaged 44.1 yards/attempt last season and does not allow many returns. Sam Webb pronounced a “gut feeling” that O’Neill would end up at Michigan, so this visit may be just a formality.

2016
Cary Angeline – TE – Exton (PA) Downington East: Angeline is a 6’7″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #9 tight end, and #213 overall. As a junior in 2014, he had 67 catches for 1,051 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Korey Banks – CB – Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek: Banks is a 6’0″, 170 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas State, Colorado State, and Miami-OH, among others. He’s an unranked prospect at this point. He claims a 4.26 forty, and while that is almost surely a fib, he does have good speed.

Devin Bush, Jr. – LB – Hollywood (FL) Flanagan: Bush is a 6’0″, 220 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, and UCLA, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #8 inside linebacker, and #249 overall. Bush is a Florida State legacy whose dad played safety for the Seminoles and is now Flanagan’s head coach.

Hit the jump for several more 2016 prospects, as well as some 2017 and 2018 kids.

Donnie Corley – WR – Detroit (MI) King: Corley is a 6’2″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Ole Miss, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #20 wide receiver, and #110 overall. Corley has visited Michigan several times and has grown more interested in the Wolverines now that Jim Harbaugh is the coach.

Matt Falcon – RB – Southfield (MI) Southfield: Falcon is a 6’1″, 215 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #13 running back, and #234 overall. He has visited Michigan several times, but Tennessee is also very high on his list.

Desmond Fitzpatrick – WR – Farmington (MI) Farmington: Fitzpatrick is a 6’2″, 194 lb. prospect who committed to Louisville last October; he has since picked up an offer from Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #57 wide receiver, and #344 overall. Fitzpatrick has been a frequent visitor to Ann Arbor and is seen as a player who very well might flip to the Wolverines at some point, even though high school teammate David Reese (also a Louisville commit) is not being heavily recruited by Michigan.

Rashan Gary – DT – Paramus (NJ) Catholic: Gary is a 6’4″, 290 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, and Rutgers, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 5-star, the #1 defensive tackle, and #1 overall. As a junior in 2014, he made 55 tackles and 14 sacks. His former high school head coach is Chris Partridge, who is now employed by Michigan as a recruiting coordinator. He will also be visiting Ohio State on his swing through the midwest.

Joshua Hammond – WR – Hallandale (FL) Hallandale: Hammond is a 6’1″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #59 wide receiver, and #347 overall. As a junior in 2014, he caught 25 passes for 413 yards and 6 touchdowns. He will also be visiting Notre Dame on his swing through the midwest.

Brad Hawkins – WR – Camden (MI) Camden: Hawkins is a 6’2″, 205 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Pitt, Rutgers, and South Carolina, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #33 wide receiver, and #161 overall. Currently he appears to be favoring the Gamecocks, but he does not look to be in a hurry to make a decision, so Michigan still has a chance to work their way to the top.

Daelin Hayes – LB – Ann Arbor (MI) Skyline: Hayes is a 6’4″, 250 lb. prospect who committed to USC last summer; he also has offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, and numerous others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #6 outside linebacker, and #82 overall. Hayes will be in town for a Tom Lemming photo shoot and despite living in Ann Arbor now, he is not expected to strongly consider Michigan.

Ron Johnson, Jr. – DE – Camden (NJ) Camden: Johnson is a 6’4″, 240 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Rutgers, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #17 weakside end, and #270 overall. As a junior in 2014, he had 84 tackles and 10 sacks. Johnson is a teammate of Hawkins. He appears to have a strong motor and some good football intuition, along with some pretty good athleticism.

Michael Jordan – OT – Plymouth (MI) Plymouth: Jordan is a 6’6″, 280 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #18 offensive tackle, and #181 overall. He has visited Michigan numerous times and the Wolverines are thought to be his leader.

Khalid Kareem – DE – Farmington Hills (MI) Harrison: Kareem is a 6’4″, 240 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #14 strongside end, and #225 overall. He was briefly committed to Michigan State in January 2015. As a junior in 2014, he made 85 tackles and 18 sacks.

Josh King – DE – Hinsdale (IL) South: King is a 6’6″, 250 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #4 strongside end, and #51 overall. As a junior in 2014, he made 70 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks. Michigan is believed to be one of King’s top three destinations.

Cedrick Lattimore – DE – Detroit (MI) East English Village: Lattimore is a 6’5″, 241 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa and a handful of MAC schools. He’s currently an unranked prospect.

Ostell Martin – OG – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Martin is a 6’5″, 330 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. With his size some offers should come eventually, but he is somewhat stiff and could afford to work his body into better shape.

Ahmir Mitchell – WR – Egg Harbor City (NJ) Timber Creek: Mitchell is a 6’3″, 205 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Rutgers, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #6 athlete, and #88 overall. Mitchell, who was being recruited as a safety by Michigan’s previous staff, is now being looked at as a receiver. He recently placed Michigan in his top six schools. Despite attending a different school, he will be headed to Ann Arbor with Hawkins and Johnson, all of whom have rescheduled this visit from last weekend’s canceled itinerary.

Michael Onwenu – OG – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Onwenu is a 6’2″, 310 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #6 offensive guard, and #211 overall. Onwenu doubles as a defensive tackle and is being recruited by some teams on that side of the ball, but Michigan wants him as an interior offensive lineman.

Andrew Pryts – S – Hermitage (PA) Hickory: Pryts is a 6’2″, 195 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #48 safety, and #701 overall. Pryts is a physical, hard-hitting safety who is thought to be a heavy Penn State lean.

David Reese – LB – Farmington (MI) Farmington: Reese is a 6’1″, 235 lb. prospect who committed to Louisville earlier this month; he also has offers from Indiana, Pitt, and several MAC schools. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #23 inside linebacker, and #686 overall. Reese is a teammate of wide receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick, who is also committed to Louisville . . . for now.

Demetric Vance – S – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Vance is a 6’1″, 193 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #21 safety, and #406 overall.

Devin Waldon – LB – Detroit (MI) East English Village: Waldon is a 6’0″, 229 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

2017
David Adams – LB – Pittsburgh (PA) Central Catholic:
Adams is a 6’1″, 225 lb. prospect with offers from Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia, and others. He is currently unranked.

Corey Bolds – DE – Paramus (NJ) Catholic: Bolds is a 6’3″, 268 lb. prospect with an offer from Rutgers (EDIT: he was offered by Michigan this weekend). He is the teammate of Rashan Gary (see above).

Rodney Hall – QB – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Hall is a 6’3″, 204 lb. left quarterback with no offers at this time. Wearing his #7 and throwing from the left side, he looks a little like Michael Vick, although not the same level of athlete.

Jaylen Kelly-Powell – S – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Kelly-Powell is a 6’0″, 183 lb. prospect who has picked up recent offers from Miami-OH and Northwestern. He’s a currently unranked. He claims a 4.49 forty.

Donovan Parker – WR – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Parker is a 6’0″, 165 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Donovan Peoples-Jones – WR – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Peoples-Jones is a 6’2″, 183 lb. prospect with offers from LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #2 wide receiver, and #12 overall. He claims a 4.43 forty. His father is former Michigan player Shonte Peoples.

Isaiah Pryor – S – Lawrenceville (GA) Archer: Pryor is a 6’2″, 190 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #5 safety, and #70 overall. Pryor is a teammate of 2016 offensive tackle offeree E.J. Price, who named Michigan his leader recently.

Willie Reid – S – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Reid is a 6’1″, 177 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Jamyest Williams – CB – Lawrenceville (GA) Archer: Williams is a 5’9″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #9 athlete, and #84 overall. Another teammate of Price’s, Williams was offered by Michigan’s previous staff and that offer was reaffirmed by Harbaugh and Co. He recently ran a 4.52 laser-timed forty and claims a 41″ vertical. As a sophomore in 2014, he carried the ball 85 times for 700 yards and 8 touchdowns; he also caught 35 passes for 452 yards and 5 touchdowns; and on defense he made 60 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 25 pass breakups.

2018

Emil Ekiyor – OG – Indianapolis (IN) Cathedral: Ekiyor is a 6’3″, 280 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He is the son of Emil Ekiyor, a Nigerian immigrant who played at Central Florida before playing six years in the NFL. The younger Ekiyor will be on campus Thursday, March 26.

Kalon Gervin – CB – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Gervin is a 5’11”, 170 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Recruiting Update: March 16, 2015

Long Beach (CA) Poly wide receiver Jack Jones

(NOT QUITE) ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2015
Concord (CA) De La Salle safety Je’Vari Anderson has been rumored to be working toward attending Michigan. Anderson is a 6’1″, 200 lb. prospect who reported offers from Cal, Oregon State, and Utah. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #63 safety, and #902 overall. Anderson has reportedly been held back by the lack of an SAT score (or at least a qualifying SAT score) and needs that to qualify. However, the deadline for signing a National Letter of Intent – which he did not do in early February like most football prospects – is rapidly approaching on April 1, 2015. From my understanding, he can still qualify and join a football program in the fall even if he doesn’t sign by that date, but he will not be able to participate in football practices or receive a scholarship until the first day of classes. Whereas most freshmen arrive in June, start classwork over the summer, and start practicing in early August, he would virtually be forced into redshirting because he could not practice until the first day of the fall semester, which is September 8th. By that time Michigan will have played the game against Utah. Anyway, Anderson is a pretty impressive athlete who has some skills as both a running back, safety, and special teams player. If Michigan is indeed trying to get him to join the program, I think they will be getting a potential starter, not just a late wish-and-prayer gamble, although the academic side could be a concern in the long run. Additionally, Anderson is a teammate of a couple 2016 Michigan offerees in center Boss Tagaloa and tight end Devin Asiasi. If Anderson ends up wearing a winged helmet, that could help with those two players, whom Michigan is pursuing hard.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2016
Washington (DC) St. John’s tight end Devante Brooks was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 230 lb. prospect who committed to Tennessee in January; he also has offers from Iowa, Maryland, North Carolina, and West Virginia, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #10 tight end, and #225 overall. Brooks is pretty solid to the Volunteers but may consider taking some visits.

Houston (TX) Westside defensive tackle Jordan Elliott was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 305 lb. prospect who committed to Baylor in January and holds offers from Alabama, Florida State, Oklahoma, and Texas, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #13 defensive tackle, and #137 overall. As a junior in 2014, he made 78 tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries. He’s impressively light on his feet and quick enough to play some defensive end for his high school team. Elliott is very talented and not the type of player one would traditionally associate with Baylor, but this is more proof that the Golden Bears are moving up in the world.

Elberton (GA) Elbert cornerback Mecole Hardman was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’11”, 170 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #8 cornerback, and #101 overall. Hardman plays quarterback for his high school team and some colleges want him to be a receiver, but Michigan is looking at him as a corner. He is very likely to stay in SEC country and has Georgia and Tennessee as his top two schools, so getting him up north will be very difficult.

Long Beach (CA) Poly wide receiver Jack Jones was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’11”, 170 lb. prospect with offers from Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and UCLA, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #4 athlete, and #77 overall. Jones could play receiver or corner in college, and with a highlight video titled “The Greatest,” anything’s possible, right? On the same day Michigan offered, he put out a top three that included the three aforementioned schools, so Michigan is playing from behind right now. He attends the alma mater of former Michigan cornerback Donovan Warren.

Hit the jump for another 2016 offer, some 2017 prospects, a guy who committed elsewhere, and some random bits.

Powder Springs (GA) McEachern tight end Christian Roberson was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Michigan State, and Missouri, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #18 tight end, and #496 overall. He’s a long, lean player who shows some nice hands and an ability to go up and get the ball. Roberson said he is not very familiar with Michigan, and a decently talented player from down there is probably going to wait and see whether more southern powers come calling. McEachern produces a lot of talented players, including offensive tackle Chuma Edoga (USC) in the 2015 class.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2017
La Vergne (TN) LaVergne linebacker Maleik Gray was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 190 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Florida State, LSU, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #1 athlete, and #26 overall. Gray plays running back for his high school team, and while he has lots of good traits as a runner, he looks more like an outside linebacker at the next level.

West Union (IA) North Fayette defensive tackle Juan Harris was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 356 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa, Tennessee, Utah, and Washington. He committed to Iowa on December 1, 2014, but the day after the Michigan offer came in, he decommitted from the Hawkeyes. There was another re-commitment and de-commitment in January, so clearly Harris is struggling with the decision process, even though National Signing Day is almost two years away for him. Harris visited Ann Arbor this past weekend. He is a wide-bodied nose tackle type who obviously needs to shed some weight.

Los Angeles (CA) Hawkins running back Greg Johnson was offered by Michigan. Johnson is a 5’10”, 185 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona State, Cal, Utah, and Washington, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #2 athlete, and #16 overall. Johnson could play a number of positions in college – running back, corner, safety – but he looks pretty darn good running the ball. However, I will say that his highlights should be taken with a huge grain of salt, because he is playing against kids who look like they have no clue how to play the game of football. That may partly explain why he ran for 2,371 yards and 20 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2014.

Los Angeles (CA) Hawkins wide receiver Joseph Lewis, a teammate of Johnson’s, was also offered by the Wolverines. He’s a 6’2″, 190 lb. prospect with offers from Notre Dame, UCLA, USC, Utah, and Washington, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #6 wide receiver, and #46 overall. Unfortunately, whoever put together the Hudl pages for both Johnson and Lewis spells their year in school as “sopohmore.” Anyway, Lewis is another good physical specimen who shows some nice speed and has good size.

Arvada (CO) Pomona offensive tackle Jake Moretti was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 265 lb. prospect with offers from Colorado, Colorado State, and Miami. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #9 offensive tackle, and #83 overall. Moretti is a nice looking prospect who has some athleticism but really needs to work on technique, as well as getting stronger. Michigan has recruited the area back in 2013 with 6’10” offensive tackle Dan Skipper (Arkansas) and 2012 offensive tackle Paul Thurston (Nebraska), although neither went to Pomona.

Madison (GA) Morgan County defensive tackle M.J. Webb was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 260 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Penn State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #2 strongside end, and #39 overall. Webb plays a little too high and soft for my liking, but he does have a good idea of how to use his hands and he moves pretty well for a big guy. Despite playing defensive end in high school, I think he’s very likely to move inside at the next level, if not within the next year or two for his high school team.

Bellaire (TX) Episcopal defensive tackle Marvin Wilson was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 300 lb. prospect with offers from Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #1 defensive tackle, and #13 overall. As a sophomore in 2014, he made 67 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, and 15 sacks. Wilson is a massive force in the middle of the defensive line and probably projects as a nose tackle for the next level. He has some decent quickness for the position, though, and can be more than a space eater.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018
Memphis (TN) Harding offensive tackle Will Lawrence was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 260 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Tennessee, Texas, and USC, among others. One reason he has all those big-time offers is his feet, which are quick and never stop moving. Some outlets are saying that this is Michigan’s first offer in the 2018 class, although Maryland defensive tackle Taron Vincent (the son of Troy Vincent) reported an offer from the previous staff.

OFF THE BOARD
Thousand Oaks (CA) Westlake wide receiver Theo Howard committed to Oregon. Howard may be a sign that Jim Harbaugh’s California connection may not be as productive as we had hoped at one point. Along with quarterback K.J. Costello, wide receiver Dylan Crawford, and cornerback David Long, Jr., Howard was in a group of players interested in at least visiting Michigan and potentially playing together at the next level. A package deal like that would almost certainly not come together, but it might hint that those other pieces will not come to Michigan, either. Costello is close to deciding (likely between Stanford and USC) and Crawford is his teammate. Meanwhile, Michigan is making Long a priority at cornerback, so his case may be the most promising.

Monroe (LA) Wossman safety Cameron Lewis committed to LSU. This was essentially a foregone conclusion, even though TCU was reportedly in the mix.

O’Fallon (IL) O’Fallon running back Kentrail Moran committed to Illinois. Moran had Michigan as his top school for a long time after being offered by Brady Hoke’s staff. At one point he even said he would “probably commit soon” and he was excited about the Jim Harbaugh hire. Unfortunately for Moran, he was told by the new staff that he would have to re-earn his offer from them, something that has not happened until this point. Around the time the news came that he would need to re-earn his offer, I was working up a scouting report on him. Even before he was offered, I actually hoped that Michigan would not offer him because he seemed likely to commit and I was not particularly fond of his abilities. Now hopefully Michigan can reel in a back with some more upside.

Visitors: Michigan vs. Maryland

Tampa (FL) Wharton wide receiver Auden Tate

Here’s a list of players who will be visiting Michigan for their game against Maryland this weekend, the final home game of the season.

2015
Jack Dunaway – DE – Bloomfield Hills (MI) Brother Rice:
Dunaway is committed to Michigan as a preferred walk-on defensive end. He’s the son of former Michigan tight end Craig Dunaway.

John Kelly – S – Oak Park (MI) Oak Park: Kelly is a 5’10”, 194 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, and Minnesota, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #62 athlete, and #656 overall. Michigan offered him after cornerback Garrett Taylor decommitted, but the Wolverines are looking at Kelly as a safety. Kelly averaged 10.7 yards/carry as a senior this year, ending up with 1,321 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Alex Malzone – QB – Bloomfield Hills (MI) Brother Rice: Michigan’s quarterback commit for the 2015 class (LINK), Malzone was 211/325 (65%) for 2,998 yards, 38 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions.

Grant Newsome – OT – Lawrenceville (NJ) Lawrenceville School: Newsome committed to Michigan in June (LINK). He’s now rated as a 247 Composite 4-star, the #21 offensive tackle, and #209 overall. This will be his official visit.

Grant Perry – WR – Bloomfield Hills (MI) Brother Rice: Perry is a 6’0″, 185 lb. prospect with offers from a bunch of MAC schools and is angling for a Michigan offer to follow his quarterback teammate, Malzone. Perry is a 247 Composite 3-star, the #130 wide receiver, and #1047 overall.

Auden Tate – WR – Tampa (FL) Wharton: Tate is a 6’4″, 215 lb. prospect who committed to Florida State in August; he also has offers from Florida, Georgia, and Michigan, among others. It always looked like a Michigan vs. Florida State battle with the Seminoles leading. An official visit, this will be Tate’s first time in Ann Arbor.

Hit the jump for 2016, 2017, and 2018 prospects.

2016
John Fitzgerald – WR – Baltimore (MD) Gilman: Fitzgerald is a 6’3″, 210 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Devery Hamilton – OT – Baltimore (MD) Gilman: I wrote a fairly comprehensive blurb on Hamilton the other day (LINK) after he was offered by Michigan.

Ellison Jordan – DT – Balitmore (MD) Gilman: Jordan is a 6’0″, 255 lb. prospect with offers from Maryland, Penn State, and Virginia Tech, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #13 defensive tackle, and #167 overall.

Jeremy Larkin – RB – Cincinnati (OH) LaSalle:

Dorian Maddox – RB – Baltimore (MD) Gilman: Maddox is a 5’11”, 205 lb. prospect with no offers at this point. He could also be a strong safety at the next level.

Brian Manuel – DT – Washington (DC) St. John’s Collegiate: Manuel is a 6’5″, 320 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He is a massive human being who could probably afford to shed a little bit of weight, but he will definitely earn some FBS offers soon.

Shamar Shanks – LB – Baltimore (MD) Gilman: Shanks is a 6’1″, 205 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Stephen Spanellis – OG – Baltimore (MD) Gilman: You can read more about Spanellis in the Hamilton link above.

Korey Stevens – CB – Baltimore (MD) Gilman:

Abdullah Yaseen – CB – Oak Park (MI) Oak Park: Yaseen is a 5’9″, 166 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

2017
Troy Brown – WR – Flint (MI) Beecher: Brown is a 6’1″, 200 lb. prospect with no offers at this point. He plays wide receiver, but he also looks like a pretty physical safety for being just a sophomore. He claims a 4.56 forty, a 215 lb. bench, and a 315 lb. squat.

Carter Dunaway – TE – Bloomfield Hills (MI) Brother Rice: Dunaway is the younger brother of Carter Dunaway and a teammate of Malzone and Perry.

Kasim Hill – QB – Baltimore (MD) Gilman: Hill is a 6’2″, 195 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan State and Syracuse.

Corey Malone-Hatcher – DE – Baltimore (MD) Gilman: Malone-Hatcher is a 6’3″, 225 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State. He has visited Alabama several times and has family connections down there, so an Alabama offer may be difficult to ward off.

Camaron Spence – DT – Baltimore (MD) Gilman: Spence is a 6’2″, 275 lb. prospect with an offer from Maryland.

2018
Dan Bolden – LB – Cincinnati (OH) Colerain:

Roman Johnson – LB – Xenia (OH) Xenia:

Taron Vincent – DT – Baltimore (MD) Gilman: Vincent is the son of former Wisconsin (and Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles) cornerback Troy Vincent, as well as the brother of Troy, Jr. (North Carolina State), whom Michigan recruited in the class of 2014.
