ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018

Baltimore (MD) St. Frances defensive end Eyabi Anoma was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Maryland, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #4 defensive end, and #81 overall. He’s a speed rusher who doesn’t quite look 6’5″ on film.

Owings (MD) Northern offensive tackle Jaelyn Duncan was offered by Michigan. He’s a 4-star, the #12 offensive tackle, and #123 overall. The 6’6″, 305-pounder has offers from Ohio State and Penn State, too. Duncan is an athletic left tackle prospect with a good motor.

Preview of 2018 In-state Recruiting: #1-5

Dearborn (MI) Divine Child defensive end Aidan Hutchinson

SITE NEWS: Thanks to everyone who donated to the site during the “server drive” over the weekend. I asked for $900 in donations, and within two days, I received $1,005. A special thanks to the person (wishing to stay anonymous) who chipped in $300, thus paying for four months of hosting. There were also multiple people who chipped in $100 or $75, which will pay for at least one month each.

On my other other site, Recruiting Season, I keep track of FBS prospects across the State of Michigan. Since the Mitten State is a fertile recruiting ground for the Wolverines, I like to keep an eye on which players might be potential Michigan-level recruits. So here, according to my own evaluations, are the top players in the state. Here’s the first chunk of five, and the second group will probably be released late this week or early next week. (If you click on each name, it will take you to their recruiting profile on Recruiting Season.)

1. Aidan Hutchinson – DE – Dearborn (MI) Divine Child
Height: 6’6″
Weight: 235 lbs.
Notable offers: LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Wisconsin
Commitment: Uncommitted
247 Composite: 4-star, #8 SDE, #199 overall
Analysis: I wouldn’t have put Hutchinson this high if I had made this list following his sophomore year, but I saw some real improvements when it comes to both technique and athleticism since last year. He’s the son of former Michigan defensive tackle Chris Hutchinson, and I think his dad has been teaching him some things. The younger Hutchinson is a high-motor kid who has quick reaction skills, shows an array of pass rushing moves to beat offensive linemen, and plays aggressively.

Hit the jump for the rest of the top five.

2018 Recruiting Update: January 19, 2017

Iverson Clement (image via Imgrum)

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018

St. Louis (MO) Christian Brothers wide receiver Kamryn Babb was offered by Michigan. Babb is a 6’1″, 189-pounder with offers from Auburn, LSU, Miami, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #13 wide receiver, and #86 overall. He has already been selected for the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. As a sophomore in 2015, he caught 39 passes for 832 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Mt. Holly (NJ) Rancocas Valley running back Iverson Clement was offered by Michigan. He’s 6’0″, 190 lbs. and a 4-star, the #22 athlete, and #283 overall. He claims a 4.49 forty, a 38″ vertical, and an 11.2 time in the 100 meters. As a junior in 2016, he ran 194 times for 1,430 yards (7.4 YPC) and 19 touchdowns. Immediately after the offer, Clement put Michigan in his top six, along with Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, and Tennessee.

Brooklyn (NY) Erasmus Hall wide receiver Aron Cruickshank was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’10”, 165-pounder with offers from Ohio State and Syracuse. Cruickshank is very slight and plays a lot of quarterback for his high school team, but his future is at receiver or maybe cornerback. Erasmus Hall is the school that produced Curtis Samuel.
