2017
Cam Akers – RB – Clinton (MS) Clinton: The 5’11”, 213 lb. prospect has offers from Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 5-star, the #2 running back, and #5 overall. The U.S. Army All-American was previously committed to Alabama, but now Ohio State has a slight lead with 30% of the Crystal Ball picks. Michigan would have a pretty solid class with the players who are already committed at running back, but Akers and Najee Harris are too good to pass up if it’s possible to get them. This is his official visit. UPDATE: Akers is no longer visiting.
Tory Carter – FB – Leesburg (GA) Lee County: Carter is a 6’2″, 255 lb. prospect who is committed to LSU. He’s a 3-star, the #1 fullback, and #1186 overall. He’s a teammate of 2017 DT Aubrey Solomon (a former Michigan commit) and 2018 safety Otis Reese (a current Michigan commit). Fullback/linebacker Chase Lasater decommitted from Michigan and fullback/linebacker Ben Mason might start off on defense, so Carter is perhaps Michigan’s best shot at a fullback in this class. This is his official visit.
Noah Harvey – LB – Hartland (WI) Arrowhead: Harvey is a 6’3″, 210 lb. prospect with an offer from Buffalo. He’s a former teammate of Michigan freshman offensive lineman Ben Bredeson.
Brad Hawkins, Jr. – WR – Camden (NJ) Suffield Academy: Hawkins is a 6’2″, 195 lb. prospect who signed a National Letter of Intent to Michigan in February. However, academic issues prevented him from enrolling at Michigan, so he is attending prep school at Suffield Academy, where he played football this fall. According to recent reports, he and Michigan plan for him to enroll at Michigan, so he is essentially a 2017 commit.
Hit the jump for several more 2017 and 2018 visitors.
Elijah Hicks – CB – La Mirada (CA) La Mirada: Hicks is a 6’0″, 185 lb. prospect who committed to Notre Dame in October; he also has offers from Michigan, Oregon, UCLA, and USC, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #37 cornerback, and #340 overall. When 247 Sports caught up with Hicks’s coach about the official visit to Michigan, his coach said Hicks is “100% signing with Notre Dame” (LINK).
Joel Honigford – OT – Sugarcreek (OH) Garaway: Honigford is a Michigan commit (LINK).
Ben Mason – LB – Sandy Hook (CT) Newtown: Mason is a Michigan commit (LINK).
Rutger Reitmaier – DT – Nashville (TN) Lipscomb: Reitmaier is a 6’3″, 270 lb. prospect who is committed to Oregon. He’s a 3-star, the #23 defensive tackle, and #375 overall. The U.S. Army All-American says he’s solid to the Ducks, but with a potential coaching shakeup in the off-season, things could change. This is his official visit.
Benjamin St-Juste – CB – Montreal (Quebec) Vieux: St-Juste is a Michigan commit (LINK).
Kurt Taylor – RB – Loganville (GA) Grayson: Taylor is a Michigan commit (LINK).
Luiji Vilain – DE – Alexandria (VA) Episcopal: Vilain is a Michigan commit (LINK).
Isaiah Wilson – OT – Brooklyn (NY) Poly: Wilson is a 6’7″, 350 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, and Rutgers, among others. He’s a 5-star, the #7 offensive tackle, and #31 overall. There have been rumors that he silently committed to Michigan, though at times both Alabama and Michigan have reportedly been tied at the top of his list. His Crystal Ball is currently 55% in favor of Michigan and 36% for Alabama. This is his official visit.
2018
Dan Bolden – LB – Cincinnati (OH) Colerain: Bolden is a 6’1″, 218 lb. prospect with an offer from Iowa State. He’s the younger brother of former Michigan linebacker Joe Bolden.
Emil Ekiyor – OG – Indianapolis (IN) Cathedral: Ekiyor is a Michigan commit (LINK).
Warren Ericson – OG – Duluth (GA) North Gwinnett: Ericson is a 6’4″, 290 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Michigan, and Ole Miss, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #24 offensive guard, and #433 overall.
Michael Furtney – OT – Milan (MI) Milan: Furtney is a 6’5″, 265 lb. prospect with offers from several MAC schools.
Trey Hill – OG – Warner Robins (GA) Houston County: Hill is a 6’3″, 333 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #2 offensive guard, and #70 overall. His 247 Crystal Ball is 100% in favor of Georgia right now. UPDATE: Hill couldn’t make the trip from Georgia.
Jacob Larson – DT – Jacksonville (FL) Providence: Larson is a 6’4″, 270 lb. prospect with offers from Georgia Southern and South Alabama. He’s a teammate of Will Mallory (see below).
Will Mallory – TE – Jacksonville (FL) Providence: Mallory is a 6’5″, 200 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Louisville, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and USC, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #10 tight end, and #213 overall. He’s a Michigan legacy and all six Crystal Ball predictions are in favor of the Wolverines.
Jake Moody – K – Northville (MI) Northville: Moody is a 6’0″, 175 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.
Jordan Moore – S – Yoakum (TX) Yoakum: Moore is a 5’11”, 170 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona, Baylor, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Texas, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #19 safety, and #263 overall. At running back as a sophomore in 2015, he had 118 carries for 1,066 yards and 22 touchdowns, though he’s considered to be a safety prospect for college. UPDATE: Jordan and Joshua Moore are unable to make it to Michigan due to a playoff game.
Joshua Moore – WR – Yoakum (TX) Yoakum: Moore is a 6’0″, 168 lb. prospect with offers from Baylor, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #11 wide receiver, and #77 overall. UPDATE: Jordan and Joshua Moore are unable to make it to Michigan due to a playoff game.

Leonard Taylor – DT – Springfield (OH) Springfield: Taylor is a former Michigan commit (LINK) who seems like he might end up at Ohio State instead.

I’d love to get all 3 of those ’17 recruits. Big recruiting week, senior day…it’s a shame the Iowa loss and anticipatory dread for the looming showndown are probably going to limit enthusiasm a bit.
I’ll be making my annual pilgrimage back to AA to catch the game. Can’t wait!

Cam Akers has the wrong abbreviation for Mississippi. It is showing MI when it should be MS.
This gave me a heart attack wondering how the HELL do we let a 5-star player get out of the state?!?!
I feel better now.
Carry on with your excellent work.

Yeah, that was a typo. Maybe the existence of Clinton, MI screwed me up, but somebody mentioned it to me on Twitter, too. I guess it’s a good thing people are reading enough to point out those mistakes!
