2011 Offer Board

2011 Offer Board

February 6, 2010

42 total players offered

Players listed in order of likeliness to commit.

Added Hasean Clinton-Dix (FS).

Added Kevin Williams (DT).

Everett Golson (QB) committed to North Carolina.

Added Tony Springmann (OT).

Added Aundrey Walker (OT), who attends Glenville High School. Michigan has offered several players from Glenville but hasn’t received a commitment since Pierre Woods. This is a longshot.

Added Andrew Buie (SB), who attends the same school as 2010 near-commit Rashad Knight.

Added Anthony Zettel (OG).

I attempted to break down the offered players by their projected positions. If I have no information from interviews or recruiting sites about the player’s projected position, I will slot him where I project him. However, any updates you find to these categorizations would be appreciated.

Added Andre Yruretagoyena (OT).

Added Justice Hayes (SB).

Added Allan Wasonga (SB).

Who do you think we have the best chance of getting besides the obvious of HART?

I don't think we have great chances with many of these guys we've offered so far. Then again, a lot of them are new to the process and haven't said much yet.

Beyond Demetrius Hart, I'd say we have pretty good shots with TE Brian Miller, WR DeAnthony Arnett, LB Trey DePriest, and safeties Karlos Williams and Ron Tanner.

@Thunder Karlos Williams? Just because we offered early doesn't mean we can put up with the Southeast schools (where he's from).

I thought we offered Teddy Bridgewater(QB from Fla) or am I wrong, not that I think he'd come here though.

I haven't heard of him being offered, and Rivals doesn't list an offer.

I thought we recently offered DaVaris Daniels as well?

I just recently saw an article on GBW, although we haven't offered him yet what do you think our shots with Wayne Lyons are?

I think Lyons will ultimately end up staying down south. And depending on what happens on NSD in a couple days, I don't know that we'd want to take on too many more safeties in 2011, although Lyons is an elite one.

He grew up a Florida fan, so if they offer him, I'd guess that's where he ends up.

To Thunder.. Sheroid Evans is a guy that seems to be pretty highly regarded in most peoples' minds despite having only received two offers. Do you think if we offer him we could get in the race? I know you said we'll probably only take elite guys next year, but this guy is definitely elite.

Barring attrition and/or position changes, I think we'll only take one or two safeties. With only 13 slots scheduled to be open in 2011, the coaches can afford to be picky. Michigan has a good chance with both Ron Tanner and LaQuentin Smith, so I think an offer to Sheroid Evans might be far off on the horizon. We haven't done that great in Texas over the last couple years with elite players.
