What do you think of Wyatt Shallman?

I've heard a lot of good things about him, and he seems to be an excellent athlete, but we are recruiting him as a tailback. The speed I have seen reported for him was pretty "meh", and at 6-4, I think that his center of gravity might be too high.

For all the hype about the 2012 class in the state of Michigan, the early indications are that 2013 is way better, at least in terms of top-end talent. I think RJS was the only top-100 player in the state of Michigan for 2012. There are already four guys here, including a five-star in Morris. Clean up, Hoke!

I'm not a big fan of recruiting Shallman as a tailback. At best I think he's a short yardage back or a fullback/H-back. I know the coaches offered him as a tailback, but I can't see him playing much if that's where he sticks.

James Ross is right around #100 in some places, and Terry Richardson was/is a top 100 player to 247 Sports. I lose track of their ratings because they change so much, but I think the talent in Michigan is better than you're giving it credit for.

Other than Morris and perhaps Elmer, I don't think there are any Michigan players who are likely to be top-100 athletes in 2013. It should still be a solid year, but I don't think it will be exceptional.
