The Rivals 100 Five-Star Challenge is taking place this weekend, and it’s roughly similar to The Opening, which will take place in July. Parts of this weekend’s activities will be streamed on Rivals, but it won’t be broadcast on ESPN like The Opening, so it doesn’t get quite as much hype.

When did Floridians start using "Ray Ray" as a name for their kids? Does anyone know the cultural origin? Is there some NASCAR guy with that name? Rap star? Just curious …..

I don't know the origin, but the funny thing is that he's Ray-Ray the Third, meaning not only his dad, but also his grandfather also had that name… So it probably goes back in his family until at least the '60's.

I grew up with a kid who was called Ray-Ray. He was really Raymond Benjamin ….. I think. His dad was a pretty hard core redneck who had been transplanted by love or something. That would have been the late 50s.

    Sigh!
