With all the hype surrounding the season, it’s been a while since I have updated you on Michigan’s recruiting situation, including the 2018 class. Here’s a look at the new faces of juniors who are wrapping up their seasons at this time of year.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018

Columbus (OH) St. Francis DeSales linebacker Brian Asamoah was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 205 lb. prospect with offers from Indiana, Penn State, Pitt, and UCLA, among others. He’s an aggressive outside linebacker type who would probably fit what Michigan wants as a SAM linebacker. He attends the alma mater of former Michigan lineman Patrick Omameh.

Stafford (VA) North Stafford offensive tackle Nana Asiedu was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’6″, 265 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #11 offensive tackle, and #99 overall. A lithe left tackle prospect, Asiedu moves really well, finishes blocks, but generally does a good job of destroying people and then just calmly jogging away.

Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei offensive tackle Tommy Brown was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’7″, 315 lb. prospect with offers from Cal, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, and UCLA, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #7 offensive tackle, and #57 overall. He’s a teammate of a couple of fellow recent Michigan offerees, 2019 quarterback J.T. Daniels and 2019 wide receiver Bru McCoy.

Hit the jump for several more new offers in the 2018 class.

Duluth (GA) North Gwinnett offensive guard Warren Ericson was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 290 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and West Virginia, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #24 offensive guard, and #434 overall. He’s a powerful offensive guard prospect who must like Michigan a fair amount already, because he took an unofficial visit to weather last weekend’s snowstorm of a game against Indiana.

Seattle (WA) Garfield wide receiver Tre’shaun Harrison was offered by Michigan. He’s listed at 6’2″, 190 lbs., but I doubt those measurements. Anyway, he’s a dynamic player who could end up at wide receiver, cornerback, or safety at the next level, and if there’s one kid’s highlight film to watch on this list, it’s his. He also has offers from Missouri, UCLA, and Washington State, but I’m sure more are coming. He’s a bit of a showboater, but he’s definitely fun to watch.

Corvallis (OR) Crescent Valley safety Talanoa Hufanga was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 193 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona State, BYU, Oregon, Oregon State, and Utah, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #9 athlete, and #176 overall. He plays quarterback in high school, but his future is probably on the defensive side of the ball, either as a strong safety or eventually as a linebacker. He’s pretty dynamic with the ball in his hands, but he’s also very physical and has a nose for the football.

Upper Marlboro (MD) Henry Wise cornerback Anthony “A.J.” Lytton was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’11”, 170 lb. prospect with offers from Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #5 cornerback, and #31 overall. I don’t see the explosiveness to be a borderline 5-star, so I think a drop in the rankings might be in order, but he’s still a good prospect.

Cincinnati (OH) Winton Woods linebacker Chris Oats was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 215 lb. prospect with offers from Miami, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Oklahoma, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #16 outside linebacker, and #228 overall. He visited Michigan for the Indiana game last weekend, and he’ll be at Ohio State on Saturday. He attends the alma mater of former Michigan linebacker Antonio Poole.

Cibolo (TX) Steele safety Caden Sterns was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 173 lb. prospect with offers from Baylor, LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, and Texas, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #4 safety, and #44 overall. Sterns could also play wide receiver at the next level. He has 57 tackles and 3 interceptions in his junior year, and he has returned all 3 interceptions for scores (and a total of 175 yards). He also has 13 catches for 220 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Pocatello (ID) Highland defensive tackle Tommy Togiai was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 290 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona State, Boise State, BYU, Oregon, UCLA, and Utah, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #10 defensive tackle, and #116 overall. Michigan has made some inroads with Polynesian players since the hiring of recruiting assistant Tony Tuioti, so we’ll see if that continues to have an effect with the likes of Togiai.
