DECOMMITMENT

Clewarwater (FL) Gaither outside linebacker Mario Eugenio decommitted from Michigan. This seems to have been a mutual parting of ways, according to Sam Webb, but I like Eugenio and wish he were still a part of the class. He’s a 4-star and the #268 player in the country.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2022

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy offensive tackle Aliou Bah decommitted from Florida State, which seems like a smart decision these days. Now he seems to be headed for Georgia. I would not expect Michigan to be a factor here.

Concord (CA) De La Salle cornerback Zeke Berry decommitted from Arizona. Berry was relatively recently offered by Michigan. He’s a 3-star, the #38 cornerback, and #382 overall. 247 Sports has him ranked highest at #142 overall. The Wolverines are expected to be involved as he makes his final decision.

Inglewood (CA) Inglewood quarterback Justyn Martin decommitted from Cal. Michigan is/was interested, but they don’t want to upset the apple cart with current QB commit Jayden Denegal. Either way, it seems like Martin is likely headed to Ole Miss or perhaps UCLA.

Michigan offered Chicago (IL) Marist linebacker Jimmy Rolder, a 6’2″, 220 lb. prospect. Rolder was committed to Illinois as a baseball player, but he now wants to pursue football and has picked up offers from Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, and Minnesota in recent days. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star and the #61 linebacker.

Mission Hills (CA) Bishop Alemany safety Larry Turner-Gooden decommitted from Arizona State. He’s a 4-star, the #5 athlete, and #118 overall.

OFF THE BOARD

Cumming (GA) West Forsyth tight end Oscar Delp committed to Georgia. Michigan had been in the lead – or close to it – at one time, but it’s always hard to pull kids from the south, especially when they’re a priority for the #1 team in the country in the home-state Bulldogs.

Port Saint Lucie (FL) Treasure Coast running back Eden James committed to Howard. He did not have a Michigan offer, but I just think it’s noteworthy that the son of NFL great Edgerrin James picked Howard over offers from Indiana (dad spent most of his career with the Colts) and Miami (dad’s alma mater). Eden James himself is a 3-star, the #96 running back, and #1291 overall.

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy tight end Jaleel Skinner committed to Alabama. He’s a 4-star and the #1 tight end in the country.

Spearman (TX) Spearman wide receiver Brenen Thompson committed to Texas. He’s a 4-star, the #11 wide receiver, and #87 in the country.
