Safety Jabrill Peppers, in his first year with the New York Giants, picked off former Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins (Washington Redskins) and returned it for a 32-yard touchdown. He also made 6 tackles and 2 pass breakups in the 24-3 victory.

Are the Giants using Jabrill better than the Browns did?
In his Peppers’ first year I was talking to a Browns fan, and he was frustrated by how they were lining up Pepper’s as a deep safety, and he wasn’t being used for any run support. I don’t recall much discussion of Peppers numbers while at Cleveland. Certainly not 6 tackles, 2 pass breakups, and a pick 6.

I haven’t watched enough of either to know for sure, but I did see some things last year with the Browns that made me wonder. He was playing a lot of deep safety, where he was 20-25 yards off the ball. On the one hand, it meant that Cleveland trusted him to make plays if the ball got that far. On the other hand, it meant he wasn’t going to be involved in the vast majority of plays. That tactic never made much sense to me.
That being said, I haven’t watched any Giants games this year because I hate the Giants and they’re very boring overall, especially with Saquon Barkley out. I might start watching them when he comes back, since they’ll have Daniel Jones, Barkley, Peppers, etc.

Giants fan I know claims they’re using him like a hybrid LB than deep safety FWIW.

Oh no! Had not heard about Bunting and Mone. Too bad.
Good to see Wilson ascending and Charleton making the most of his opportunity.

For much of the 4th quarter, this game felt like a replay of the 2016 contest. Michigan got almost all of its points early, and then the defense had to hold on for dear life. Just as in that game, Michigan couldn’t get a late first down that would have iced it, giving the Hawkeyes one more chance. This time, the defense held.
But Don Brown’s defense has occasionally been absent in big games, especially on the road or anywhere against the Buckeyes, so I am not optimistic @PSU or vs. OSU. The Notre Dame and MSU games feel like toss-ups at best.
