ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2021

Fort Lauderdale (FL) University School linebacker Emile Aime was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’10”, 190 lb. prospect with offers from Louisville and Syracuse. He’s rated as an inside linebacker, so it will be interesting to see how his body develops, considering he’s so short and light at this point.

Detroit (MI) Cass Tech center Raheem Anderson II was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’3″, 288 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa State and Toledo. Anderson was a starter on Cass Tech’s team as a freshman in 2017, and he’s currently the only Cass Tech player with an offer from the Wolverines. Michigan has yet to offer any 2019 or 2020 prospects from a school that has been considered a pipeline to Ann Arbor.

Chicago (IL) Phillips defensive tackle Dominic Bass was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 250-pounder with offers from Iowa State and Purdue, among others. Michigan also offered his 2019 teammate, tight end Jahleel Billingsley.

Hit the jump for several more new offers in the 2021 class.

COMMITMENT

Loganville (GA) Grayson offensive tackle Trente Jones committed to Michigan (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019

Bellflower (CA) Mayfair safety Chris Adimora was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 195 lb. prospect with offers from Nebraska, Oregon, Texas, UCLA, and USC, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #23 safety, and #294 overall. I don’t get my hopes up for any California prospects, so I expect him to go to UCLA or USC.

Chicago (IL) Phillips Academy tight end Jahleel Billingsley was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 230-pounder with offers from Florida, Illinois, Nebraska, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #8 tight end, and #260 overall.

Westlake Village (CA) Oaks Christian running back Zach Charbonnet was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 192 lb. prospect with offers from Cal, Notre Dame, UCLA, and USC, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #19 running back, and #275 overall. As a junior in 2017, he ran the ball 265 times for 2,049 yards (7.7 YPC) and 23 touchdowns. He’s got a good combination of agility, burst, and power.

Hit the jump for several more offers and tidbits.

Tim Drevno, Ex-Wolverine

Tim Drevno (image via 247 Sports)

This is “old news” by now because it was announced yesterday and I posted a link last night, but I wanted to share a few thoughts on the departure of offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Tim Drevno.

Some of Michigan’s offensive line numbers over the past few years:

ADJUSTED LINE YARDS
2015: #52
2016: #64
2017: #20

ADJUSTED SACK RATE
2015: #13
2016: #28
2017: #117

Ex-Wolverines: Class of 2007

Ryan Mallett (image via Sports Illustrated)

Here’s a wrap-up of the 2007 signees who left Michigan before their eligibility was completed.

Zion Babb – Wide receiver/cornerback – Alhambra (CA) Alhambra
Babb committed to the Wolverines as a speed-burning wide receiver, but bounced back and forth between receiver and cornerback in his two years at Michigan.  He redshirted as a freshman in 2007.  As a receiver in 2008 during Rich Rodriguez’s first year, Babb caught 2 passes for 45 yards.  However, there were multiple behavior and attitude issues – including reported verbal altercations with coaches on the practice field – that forced the program to part ways with him.  He attended a junior college in 2009 and was reportedly considering transfers to Colorado and New Mexico, but did not appear on either team’s 2010 roster.
Current status: Out of football

Artis Chambers – Safety/linebacker – Fort Wayne (IN) Snider
Chambers committed to the Wolverines as part of a seemingly excellent defensive back haul in 2007, joining Jerimy Finch and Donovan Warren.  Chambers played immediately, making 7 tackles as a freshman in 2007.  He added 4 tackles in 2008 while playing a linebacker/safety hybrid role, but left the team prior to the end of the season.  After the 2008 season, he announced a transfer to Ball State and sat out the 2009 campaign.  He was not on Ball State’s 2010 but popped up at Delta State in 2012, where he played in seven games and made 6 tackles.
Current status: Out of football

Goodbye, Maurice Hurst, Jr.

Maurice Hurst, Jr. (image via Freep)

HIGH SCHOOL

Hurst is the son of former NFL cornerback Maurice Hurst. The younger Hurst attended Westwood (MA) Xaverian Brothers, where he was a 247 Composite 4-star, the #21 defensive tackle, and #266 overall in the 2013 class. He was recruited to Michigan by Curt Mallory, while also fielding offers from Boston College, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, and Ohio State, among others. He played a good deal of fullback in high school, too. Hurst committed to Michigan in June of 2012, and his only official visit was to Ann Arbor. He played in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. I initially gave Hurst a TTB Rating of 73 (LINK) and questioned whether he would get bulky and technical enough to play nose tackle at the next level, but I bumped him to a 78 after National Signing Day (LINK).

Hit the jump for the rest of Hurst’s senior profile.
