Review of 2012 TTB Ratings

Jeremy Clark

I did a review of my TTB Ratings from 2011 here (LINK), but it’s been a while, so it’s long past time for a look at the 2012 class.

Keep in mind that the ratings (fully explained here) are intended to project how players will fare at Michigan and, to a certain extent, in the NFL Draft. I do not take into account how players will do once they get to the NFL or how they will pan out if they transfer to other programs. I will give myself a grade of 1-5 like a 5-point grading scale (5 is best, 1 is worst) for each player; I reserve the right to give myself an incomplete if the guy never made it to his first season. I’ll work down the list from highest to lowest with a brief career recap for each player:

2019 Season Countdown: #85 Nolan Rumler

Nolan Rumler (image via 247 Sports)

Name: Nolan Rumler
Height:
6’3″
Weight:
310 lbs.
High school:
Akron (OH) Hoban
Position:
Center
Class:
Freshman
Jersey number:
N/A
Last year:
Rumler was a senior in high school (LINK).
TTB Rating:
N/A

Rumler was an Under Armour All-American who ended the 2019 recruiting cycle as a 4-star, the #10 offensive guard, and #174 overall. He was a heavy Michigan lean for years before he ended up committing.

I have Rumler as the most likely freshman lineman to play, but he’s still all the way down here at #85. Why? Because Michigan should have a pretty solid two-deep that won’t need much help from freshmen. There’s a possibility that an injury or two could force Rumler into the rotation, but I still think he’ll have at least a year on the sideline before playing. He’s probably headed for center eventually, and Michigan has both Cesar Ruiz and Stephen Spanellis as relatively experienced college players.

Prediction: Redshirt

Goodbye, Jared Wangler

HIGH SCHOOL

Wangler was a high school teammate of one-time Michigan quarterback Shane Morris and is the son of former Michigan quarterback John Wangler. Originally committed to Penn State, he eventually flipped to Brady Hoke’s Wolverines. Despite being an Under Armour All-American, I gave him a TTB Rating of 59 (LINK).

Hit the jump for more on Wangler.

Nightly Roundup: June 1, 2019

Bru McCoy…doesn’t play for Texas anymore (image via 247 Sports)

This has nothing to do with Michigan, but 5-star wide receiver Bru McCoy has now decided to transfer twice within his first five months of college (LINK).
