Dennis Norfleet scored a game-winner for Tuskegee


FORMER PLAYERS

DB Blake Countess, Auburn: Countess made 6 tackles and 1 pass breakup in Auburn’s 29-13 loss to Alabama. Auburn was highly ranked to begin the year, but their final record is 6-6.

TE Keith Heitzman, Ohio: Heitzman made 1 catch for 5 yards in Ohio’s 26-21 win over Northern Illinois. The Bobcats are bowl-eligible at 8-4.

RB Dennis Norfleet, Tuskegee: Norfleet scored the game-winning touchdown on a 2-yard run with 19 seconds remaining in Tuskegee’s 35-31 win over North Alabama in the second round of the Division II playoffs. Norfleet also started the scoring with an 8-yard run, and had 21 carries for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns, 3 catches for 19 yards, and 2 kickoff returns for 44 yards. Tuskegee plays the University of West Georgia this coming Saturday at noon in the D-II quarterfinals.

LB Kaleb Ringer, Georgia State: Ringer made 7 tackles in a 31-21 win over Troy. Georgia State is 5-6 with one game remaining in the regular season.

FORMER COACHES
Head coach Les Miles, LSU: Miles, a former assistant at Michigan, was left hanging out to dry by athletic director Joe Alleva for several days (or weeks) before finishing the season with a 19-7 win over Texas A&M. Alleva came out after the game and said that Miles “will continue to be” LSU’s coach after the players carried Miles off the field. LSU finishes the regular season at 8-3, which including a three-game losing streak to Alabama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss.

FORMER COMMITS
CB Gareon Conley, Ohio State: Conley made 5 tackles in Ohio State’s 42-13 win over Michigan.

DB Dallas Crawford, Miami: Crawford made 2 tackles in a 29-24 win over Pitt.

RB Damien Harris, Alabama: Harris had 1 carry for 2 yards, 1 catch for 4 yards, and 1 kickoff return for 30 yards in Alabama’s 29-13 win over Auburn.

    Question for Thunder on Damien Harris…. Do you think he could have contributed significantly at M this year? …It’s not like he would be behind the same level of RBs at M.

    You seemed pretty high on him in his commit post but he never stuck around to get his TTB rating.

      I do think he would have contributed. After all, Karan Higdon got a shot and probably would have played more if he had produced much of anything. The staff clearly didn’t think much of Drake Johnson’s abilities to run the ball by the end of the year (maybe lingering effects from the injury?), so we were essentially down to one true running back (Smith) by the end of the season. I think Harris could have at least been a significant backup.
