Former Michigan RB Michael Cox: Cox had 10 carries for 37 yards and 1 reception for 0 yards in UMass’s 24-0 loss to Bowling Green.
Former Michigan S Vladimir Emilien: Emilien had 6 tackles and 1 pass breakup in Toledo’s 29-23 victory over previously undefeated Cincinnati.
Former Michigan RB Sam McGuffie: McGuffie had 8 receptions for 62 yards and 1 carry for 7 yards in Rice’s 28-24 loss to Tulsa.
Former Michigan WR/CB commit Dewayne Peace: Peace had 4 catches for 41 yards in Houston’s 72-42 loss to SMU.
Former Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez: Rodriguez and his Arizona Wildcats beat Washington by a score of 52-17. Arizona had 533 total yards, 277 of which came on the ground. They are now 4-3.
Former Michigan WR Je’Ron Stokes: Stokes had 5 catches for 21 yards in Bowling Green’s 24-0 victory over UMass.

It's hard to say from looking at the stats and not watching them play, but my guess would be that Witty could be starting over Floyd or Taylor. I say that because neither of Michigan's CBs is that good, and 2 tackles for a loss for a CB would seem to say that he doesn't shy away from contact which Floyd struggles with.

I think McGuffie could be playing in the slot and/or filling a Jeremy Gallon or Drew Dileo role.
I think Witty could certainly be in the rotation at corner, and he probably could have beaten out Raymon Taylor for the backup CB spot to start the season. Witty would be on the field somewhere, I think, but his role would be a bit of a question mark (starting CB, backup CB, maybe slot corner).

Hard to know who would be better between McGuffie, Peace, and Dileo, but McGuffie might be stuck as a backup to Vincent Smith.
I'd say Vinopal or Emilien or Carvin Johnson would probably still be playing ahead of Wilson, but not ahead of either starter at Safety.
The real interesting scenario for 'ex-wolverines' is what woulda been had Tate Forcier stuck around and got his act together. He had a skill set that Borges might have loved.
That Rodriguez guy would make an excellent OC, if he was still around.
One thing to consider is that most people get a lot better by the time they are seniors. Rodriguez recruited most of our current DL in one class (Campbell, Washington, Roh) despite losing 2 highly regarded DT recruits in one class. Campbell and Washington looked like nobodies their first few years and got dramatically better late in their careers…helps to have defensive staff who know what they're doing.

Out of the three safeties, i thought Carvin Johnson had the best shot at becoming a good player. Emilien looked like his speed would always be an issue. While Carvin wasn't a burner, he seemed to have good instincts. With Vinopal, he had no business playing D-1 football as a true freshman. He looked overwhelmed physically many times. Probably just needed some time to develop, but either way, it was hard to get a good read on the kid.

The MAC is actually really good this year. I mean, they're still the MAC, but Ohio, NIU, Toledo and Kent State are the real deal. Even the teams at the bottom of the conference standings have made some noise like CMU knocking off Iowa and WMU beating Connecticut.
