Although Michigan isn’t #1 in any of the above categories (though we may be soon in NFL production), it is in the top 5 for all except weather and rabid fanbases, though the Big House makes up a good amount for not being Texas. I would think most recruits value more than one aspect of the school the play for.

Also, while Stanford is a solidly better academic school, Notre Dame isn’t that much better. UM has a chunk of majors and departments that are better than their counterparts at Notre Dame.

Just to check. Besides today’s news and the upcoming news of the three students who’ve been under investigation for some time now, is there anything else big coming up legal-wise or other for MSU? I hope not.

I mean who wouldn’t want to play for the nationally acclaimed, though historically statistically mediocre, defense of Gene Chizik?

I don’t know how much this factors into coaches decisions for player positions, but I would think it matters to have a solid second team for each position for practice so that the first and second team offense get the best opponents. So the second team nickel or dime might need one more corner, and–as y’all have noted–it’s Clark’s experience vs. Richardson/Dawson/Taylor-Douglas.
