Ortiz is fortunate the bullet didn’t hit a kidney. Its about the same as a heart shot…….Evidently after being shot in the back the bullet exited his stomach; how the bullet missed his kidney or anything else vital is amzing.
He’s also fortunate the shooter didn’t use a shotgun loaded with buckshot – its the absolute most devastating weapon that one can use at close range on a “medium sized thin skinned game animal” – which would be the classification of a typical human male IF one categorized a Human Being as a “game animal”………
This incident immediately brought back parallels to memory of the Lymon Bostock incident, too along with the fact that involvement in Love triangles are one of the principle ways one can find themselves getting murdered.

Yeah, you don’t have to mess around with a married woman. There are plenty of single ones who will chase the money when they find out you are/were a pro baseball player.
I’m not familiar with the Lymon Bostock incident.
Is a kidney shot as bad as a heart shot? You have two kidneys… He did have his gall bladder removed (which I’ve read is not a huge deal), but the gunshot damaged his liver, too. You only have one liver…

the kidneys are directly connected in a major way to the circulatory system as they filter the blood and are, next to the heart itself one of the primary ways of bleeding to death either by gunshot or stabbing……… A gunshot or stabbed kidney is equivalent to being cut or shot in the femoral artery leading to massive internal hemorrhage unconsciousness & death in but a couple minutes………
Also, the woman or man doesn’t necessarily even need to be married. Just going thru divorce process or recent ‘breakup’ can ‘trigger’ a fatal response. Many years ago a friend of mine’s father and the gal he was dating were both ambushed and murdered by her estranged husband. The divorce was 3 weeks from being ‘final’…….
Personal……..I’ve met so many gals over the years and when I find out they’re going thru divorce my response is “Talk to me a year AFTER its final”. IF they’re married I always ask them, “Happily?” If their response is anything but YES! I’m thinking – “too much drama in that chicks life – time for me to run as I’m not doing Drama.”

Also, the liver is a realy huge organ and people can actually live good lives having much of it removed for what ever reason. They have to watch what they eat & drink but they can live a reasonably normal life. The liver too is the only organ that can regrow itself if some is removed or damage……..INTjohn
