Yeah, probably. Otherwise, their starting QB might be a 5’10”, 170 lb. freshman (Isaiah Williams). Williams is lightning in a bottle with the ball in his hands, but he’s built like a cornerback.
I had forgotten Isaiah Williams had committed to Illinois. When I looked him up a few months ago I was amazed at him. I saw his incredible offer sheet. Then I saw he chose Illinois. That hit me sideways because (apparently) Alabama and Clemson both wanted him badly. Then I read a couple people say he had a chance to start immediately at Illinois. One guy even said Lovey Smith told him he would start immediately. But you never know what to believe about these “insider” reports. That “insider” must have been wrong, because with Brandon Peters going there now Williams may not be the starter. And would Lovey Smith take a QB transfer that will likely be the starter if he had already promised Williams he would be starter?
But, the prospect of both Peters and Williams in the same backfield is nice!

He is probably better than anyone Illinois has. But he dioesn’t know the playbook. But he’s a sharp guy. He just may learn it by August.
