Recruiting Update: April 8, 2013

Naples (FL) Barron Collier defensive tackle Brady Pallante

COMMITMENT
Naples (FL) Barron Collier defensive tackle Brady Pallante committed to Michigan.

OFF THE BOARD
Cincinnati (OH) Moeller outside linebacker Sam Hubbard committed to Ohio State.  Hubbard had been committed to Notre Dame as a lacrosse player, but he has started to realize his football potential and chose the Buckeyes instead.  As a probable strongside linebacker, this might open the door for Cleveland (OH) St. Ignatius linebacker Kyle Berger to committed to Michigan; Berger’s recruitment appeared to have been a Michigan vs. Ohio State battle, but the Wolverines still need a SAM in the 2014 class while the Buckeyes have potentially filled that hole.

Wellington (FL) Palm Beach Central offensive tackle K.C. McDermott committed to Miami.  He had been expected to choose between Miami and Notre Dame, and he had not visited Michigan.

Washington (DC) Friendship Collegiate cornerback D’Andre Payne committed to Tennessee.  Michigan made Payne’s top ten list, but he never showed much interest.  Tennessee seemed to be the favorite for a while, so this wasn’t a surprise.

MISCELLANEOUS
Michigan hosted a ton of visitors over the past week, since it was spring break for a lot of high schoolers.

Coming out of the weekend, Michigan appears to lead for a few of those prospects: Jabrill Peppers, Juwann Bushell-Beatty, and K.J. Williams.

Thunder, Who do you like better between Hubbard and Berger?

Berger would be my choice, although I do think Hubbard is a good athlete.

I have to scroll all the way down to find a hot girl. I mean, being in the NCG tonight is cool, but that thing with the lack of hot girls: not cool.

I know… The nightly pictures of the hot girls might be going by the wayside. It's more of a business decision than a personal choice. Some people are finding that the site is getting blocked at work, and that's not a good thing.

      Sad days. Sad, sad days.
What if said girls only popped up when pulling up an individual entry, as opposed to being front page'd?
What am I going to do with all these pictures of ex-girlfriends I have forced to don Michigan gear?
This is a conundrum about which all options should be explored.

The "Attractive Michigan Girl of the Week" posts will continue, as long as people keep sending me pictures. So keep forcing your girlfriends to wear Michigan gear.

As for pictures popping up on individual entries…that's probably something that would be more work than necessary.

Blocked at work? That's what a smartphone is for.

Most sites list Ferns and Berger at the same height with Ferns outweighing Berger by 20 pounds. It seems that Ferns, not Berger, is the better SAM prospect, no?

Well, I guess this is moot now. I hope that the Berger commitment was not a jinx for me posting that question.
But regardless, the larger issue still stands. With Ferns on board, why do you think that M needs another SAM in this class? With limited scholarship numbers (and McCray signed from last year) I´d rather see us pick up a MIKE-WILL prospect.

Ferns is being recruited as a MIKE. He also has the ability to play SAM, in my opinion, but they want someone else to play that position. So once Cam Gordon graduates, we only have Jake Ryan and Mike McCray. Meanwhile, you have Morgan, Ross, Bolden, Poole, Jenkins-Stone, Ringer, and Ferns to play ILB. That's 7 guys for 2 spots, but just 2 guys for SAM.
