Clearwater (FL) Clearwater running back Adarius Lemons

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2017

Collierville (TN) St. George’s running back Chase Hayden was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’11”, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Tennessee and Vanderbilt. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #33 running back, and #436 overall. Hayden is the son of Aaron Hayden, who grew up in Detroit and played running back for the Tennessee Volunteers before an NFL career with the Chargers, Packers, and Eagles (784 rushing yards, 4 touchdowns in his career). The younger Hayden has the Volunteers on top, but he is still near the beginning of his recruiting process.

Clearwater (FL) Clearwater running back Adarius Lemons was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’1″, 185 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, and Louisville. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #23 running back, and #289 overall. Lemons is a speedy back who’s shifty and does a nice job of fighting for yardage. Michigan is offering some talented running backs in 2017 and trying to get in on them early so they can supplement the current roster.

Hit the jump for a player who committed elsewhere and some random bits.

OFF THE BOARD
McKinney (TX) North defensive end Justin Madubuike committed to Texas A&M. Michigan was never in the thick of his recruitment, although defensive line coach Greg Mattison made a run at him.

MISCELLANEOUS
Montreal (Quebec) Vieux cornerback Benjamin St-Juste, reclassified to 2017 and will enroll at Michigan in January 2017. Previously considered a 2016 commit, that opens up one more spot in the current class and allows St-Juste another year to mature and hone his skills.

Ann Arbor (MI) Pioneer athlete Antjuan Simmons visited Michigan last week, and he was offered by Notre Dame yesterday. His only other non-MAC offers is Illinois, but the 2017 prospect is a player I’ve had my eyes on since last fall. 247 Sports ranks him as the #9 player in the state of Michigan for his class, but I think he’s one of the top three or four guys. He’s a bit of a tweener at 6’1″ and 205 lbs., because he doesn’t have great speed to play running back or great size to be a linebacker, but he’s just a good football player who I think will find a way to make an impact at the next level. The Michigan coaching staff is recruiting their “Pipeline 9” for 2017, a group of nine in-state athletes they’ve offered, but I wouldn’t mind them adding a tenth player to the list, even if it ruins the rhyme.

In his size and football IQ, Antjuan Simmons sounds James Ross-like, which works for me. Multi-year starting LB is good. I hope Michigan makes him an offer soon.
