The Offense-Defense All-American Bowl will be taking place on December 29, 2017, at 6:26 p.m. EST in New Orleans, LA.  This is a second-tier national all-star bowl, but there are still some solid players here. Ex-Wolverine Updates: 2017 Pre-season Edition

TRANSFERS

OG Kyle Bosch: Bosch is expected to start at offensive guard for West Virginia. He’s currently ranked as the #11 offensive guard in the 2018 draft class by NFL Draft Scout.

WR/S Brian Cole: Cole spent the 2016 season at East Mississippi Community College, the school that’s the subject of the Netflix docuseries Last Chance U. Cole isn’t featured prominently, though he makes a couple cameos. Anyway, he made 54 tackles, 1 sack, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries at safety. He enrolled at Mississippi State in January but he will have to redshirt this year to get in compliance with academic requirements.

RB Kingston Davis: Davis ran 2 times for 17 yards against Hawaii in last year’s season opener, and now he’s transferring to Independence Community College in Kansas. The assumption is that he’ll try to transfer back up to an FBS program in 2018.

Hit the jump for many, many more updates.

3-13-17 Recruiting Update: May the Schwartz be with You

Jashaun Corbin (image via Viera Voice)

Pick the score of the men’s basketball game vs. Oklahoma for a chance at an Amazon gift card (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2018

Melbourne (FL) Holy Trinity Episcopal running back Jashaun Corbin was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’0″, 191 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Florida State, North Carolina, and Oregon, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #41 running back, and #700 overall. As a junior in 2017, he had 107 carries for 1,022 yards and 11 touchdowns; he also had 25 catches for 619 yards and 7 touchdowns. Corbin actually looks like a decent prospect, but if you watch his highlights, I’m not promising good football. Small crowds, lollygagging, and such will ensue.

Frisco (TX) Wakeland offensive tackle Rafiti Ghirmai was offered by Michigan. Ghirmai is a 6’4″, 290-pounder with offers from Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, TCU, and Texas, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #26 offensive tackle, and #358 overall. He looks like he might be a guard at the next level.

Stockbridge (GA) Woodland offensive tackle James Ohonba was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’5″, 350 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #20 offensive tackle, and #264 overall. He’s a big, burly lineman who looks like he too might end up playing offensive guard in college, since he doesn’t move extremely well at 350.

Hit the jump for some more new 2018, 2019, and 2020 offers, plus some tidbits.

Jalil Irvin – OG – Stone Mountain (GA) Stephenson: Irvin is a 6’4″, 280 lb. guard who was committed to Michigan at one time (LINK). He’s now a 4-star, the #16 offensive guard, and #316 overall. He has offers from Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss, among others.

Jalil Irvin, Ex-Wolverine

Stone Mountain (GA) Stephenson OG Jalil Irvin

Stone Mountain (GA) Stephenson offensive guard Jalil Irvin decommitted from Michigan on Tuesday. He committed to Michigan in June (LINK).

Irvin still has Michigan in his top five and will consider the Wolverines going forward. I originally compared him to former Michigan offensive guard Patrick Omameh, since he’s an athletic guard who can grow into being a lineman at the next level. As a 2018 prospect, it’s too early to regret his departure from the class too much, but it’s reason not to get too invested in these early commitments. Michigan has already offered several other offensive guard prospects, including Indiana’s Emil Ekiyor, Michigan’s own Marquan McCall, and Georgian Jamaree Salyer, among others.

This is the third decommitment for Michigan in two days, as 2017 defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon (LINK) and 2018 defensive end Leonard Taylor (post yet to come) both backed off their commitments on Monday.
