Ex-Wolverine Updates: Post-2016 Recap

Kyle Bosch (#62, image via Scout)

Former OG Kyle Bosch: Bosch made 1 tackle this year, but more importantly, he started all 13 games at West Virginia and was named Second Team All-Big 12.

Former DE commit Pharaoh Brown: After missing all of 2015 while recovering from a nasty knee injury, Brown was Oregon’s starting tight end and made 33 catches for 426 yards (12.9 yards/catch) and 5 touchdowns. However, he got in some legal trouble and missed the final two games of the season. His college career is complete.

Former WR commit George Campbell: Campbell redshirted during his second year at Florida State due to injury. He will be a redshirt sophomore this coming fall.

Rashad Weaver, Ex-Wolverine

Rashad Weaver

Cooper City (FL) Cooper City defensive end Rashad Weaver decommitted from Michigan on Monday. He had been committed to the Wolverines since June after being offered during one of Michigan’s satellite camps in Florida. Here’s his post on Twitter, which I think sounds appropriately bitter:

As you can see if you like, I was not high on Weaver when he committed (LINK). I gave him a TTB Rating of 45, which is/was the lowest of Michigan’s 2016 recruiting cycle. Then Weaver went out, and no doubt through hard work, made me eat some of my words. I thought he took some tremendous steps forward as a senior, and I was no longer regretting Michigan’s decision to offer him a scholarship. (Certain recruiting insiders were saying that Michigan viewed him as a top-5 defensive end in the class when they initially offered.)

Senior Highlights: Rashad Weaver

Cooper City (FL) Cooper City defensive end Rashad Weaver completed his senior season. He made 53 tackles, 7 sacks, 1 interception (returned for a TD), 2 forced fumbles, 6 pass breakups, 2 blocked punts, and 2 blocked field goals, according to Maizenbrew.

It’s hard not to be impressed with Weaver’s senior film. Despite going to a large high school, he looks like a man among boys out there on the football field. Listed at 6’5″, 241 lbs., he dwarfs the competition. He has also improved his explosiveness, technique, and athleticism from his junior year. I would not be surprised to see a rankings bump before February. He’s a currently a 247 Composite 3-star, the #112 defensive tackle, and #1930 overall.

Hit the jump for the film.
