Iowa City (IA) West wide receiver Oliver Martin (image via The Gazette)
Ellis Brooks – LB – Richmond (VA) Benedictine: Brooks is a 6’2″, 233 lb. prospect who was committed to Duke at one point. He also has offers from LSU, Maryland, Michigan, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Virginia, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #12 inside linebacker, and #267 overall. He has had a bit of a meandering journey with the Duke commitment, a few different leaders, a few teams slow-playing him, etc. In fact, both Michigan and Notre Dame have pulled back at times. UPDATE: Michigan is no longer pursuing Brooks.
Joel Honigford – OT – Sugarcreek (OH) Garaway: Honigford committed to Michigan in June of 2016 (LINK). This is his official visit.
Oliver Martin – WR – Iowa City (IA) West: Martin is a 6’0″, 188 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #28 wide receiver, and #170 overall. He played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl a few weeks ago, and as a senior in 2016, he caught 85 passes for 1,272 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was also Gatorade Player of the Year in Iowa. Michigan had been his leader at one point but backed off when they thought Nico Collins was coming. Now that Collins seems to be headed for Georgia, Michigan has picked things back up for Martin. This will be an official visit.
Hit the jump for some more visitors.
Ifeatu Melifonwu – S – Grafton (MA) Memorial: Melifonwu is a 6’3″, 185 lb. prospect who has been committed to Syracuse since July of 2016. He also has offers from Navy and UMass. He’s a 3-star, the #137 safety, and #1808 overall. Michigan has not offered him yet, but Jim Harbaugh and company did watch him play a basketball game and Don Brown recruited his older brother, a safety from UConn. I wrote up a scouting report on Melifonwu recently (LINK).
C.J. Thorpe – OG – Pittsburgh (PA) Central Catholic: Thorpe is a 6’3″, 315 lb. prospect who has been committed to Penn State since April of 2016. He’s a 4-star, the #7 offensive guard, and #140 overall, and he played in the Under Armour All-American Game. Thorpe is a Penn State legacy, and by most accounts, he is very unlikely to flip. However, he visited UCLA last weekend, so he’s looking around a bit. Thorpe is an athletic lineman, and he would be a very good addition. He also has the versatility to play defensive tackle. UPDATE: Thorpe has decided not to visit.
2019
Quinn Carroll – OT – Minneapolis (MN) Edina: Carroll is a 6’6″, 280 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas, LSU, Minnesota, Penn State, and Wisconsin, among others. He’s still very early in his recruitment, so it’s tough to gauge where he’ll be headed.

Thorpe is a beast. PSU got a good one.

247 thinks Honigford is coming in for his official as well.

I really like Quinn Carroll. I don’t think he’s 6’6″ 280, at least not on his sophomore film, but he’s big, wide, drops his hips and moves his feet real good for a 16 year old kid and seems to take a great deal of pleasure in pancaking you.
I want him.
