I’ve read in a few locations where Jim might, indeed, go after a dual threat qb for no other reason than having the ability to change courses in the middle of a game, thereby giving the D a look they haven’t seen and w/Jim you know it would not be implemented until such time as he felt it a viable scoring threat.

If true, with the number we have since he’s arrived including two of the best at pure pocket passers, I would think if such a move were to be made, he would be a good candidate to do so. I actually thought that might have been the reason for going after Gentry, but he will, I think, by being developed under the Michigan system, provide us with yet another option at Jim’s favorite position with his size and athleticism.

I think this young man, given his talent at such a young age and his Michigan connections, be the ideal candidate if Jim, indeed, wants to move in that direction.

I, for one, am glad the ’16 starter is not “the lock” as many of us thought he would be. There is nothing I’d like more than seeing Shane begin to show glimpses of what we were all hoping he would become when he was recruited here. Actually, all the qbs reflected a decent amount of confidence in their chances at being “next man up.” This is never a bad thing. Add Peter and McCaffrey to the mix of what’s already on hand and I think if he is actually going to pursue a dual threat, this seems to be a very likely candidate.

I really like Phillip Paea, although i don’t think he’s 6’4, 280. However big he is, he’s big enough and looks like he can get bigger. He’ll let you get into his body some, but on the positive side, when you do you run into a rock. He’s really nifty, pulling from the guard position. He finds somebody to hit and then he hits em regardless of whether they want to try to juke him or shed him. At the high school level, you ain’t gonna shed him. He straight out knocks some kid’s helmet off with a square on hit ….. blocking.

On defense, I thought he does his best work out of a two point stance. He can play DE for me. I’m not sure I care which side.

AJ Dillon looks like ….. name any three Alabama backs of the Saban era. He’s a wonderful combination of size and speed. If we get him, I’m thinking fisticuffs break out between Brown and Wheatley.
