2017
Darrion Green – CB – Dallas (TX) Woodrow Wilson: Green is a 5’11”, 170 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan and SMU. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #150 cornerback, and #1528 overall. He claims a 4.4 forty. Green is partially deaf, so earning FBS football offers is a big deal. There has been some talk that his Michigan offer is “not committable,” and he will be making his college announcement in the coming weeks, so his pick will probably be SMU unless something changes.
James Hudson – DE – Toledo (OH) Central Catholic: Hudson is a 6’5″, 280 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Iowa, Penn State, and Pitt, among others; he just recently decommitted from Kentucky. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #11 strongside end, and #330 overall. Michigan has not yet offered, but there’s a good chance that they will on the visit (UPDATE: Michigan did indeed offer).
Jaylen Kelly-Powell – S – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Kelly-Powell is a 6’0″, 183 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Oregon, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #22 safety, and #243 overall. I put in a Crystal Ball for him to Michigan a couple weeks ago.
Hit the jump for several more 2017 and 2018 visitors.
Ambry Thomas – CB – Detroit (MI) King: Thomas is a 5’11”, 174 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Pitt, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #14 cornerback, and #135 overall. He ran a 4.48 forty at the Opening regional event in Columbus, OH. Michigan State leads in Crystal Ball picks with 40% of the votes so far.
Luiji Vilain – DE – Alexandria (VA) Episcopal: Vilain is a 6’4″, 240 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio State, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #8 weakside end, and #92 overall. He transferred to Episcopal from Ontario, Canada, and is a teammate of 2017 safety Jonathan Sutherland. I put in a Crystal Ball for Vilain to Michigan.
2018
Shelton Applewhite, Jr. – QB – Wayne (NJ) DePaul: Applewhite is a 6’4″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Rutgers and Temple. He claims a 4.5 forty. He was a teammate of 2016 RB Kareem Walker and DT Michael Dwumfour last season, and he’ll be traveling with Dorian Hardy (see below).
Houston Griffith – CB – Chicago (IL) Mt. Carmel: Griffith is a 6’0″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Arkansas, Illinois, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #7 cornerback, and #72 overall. He’s the son of former NFL running back and TV personality Howard Griffith.
Dorian Hardy – DE – Montvale (NJ) St. Joseph: Hardy is a 6’5″, 245 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Florida, LSU, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, and Rutgers, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 4-star, the #6 strongside end, and #187 overall. He grew up as an Alabama fan, so the Crimson Tide look to be out in front for now; however, Michigan was his first offer.

Hardy plays on just a massive D line at the high school level. I went to St Joseph’s roster page, 5 kids over 285, 2 over 300. Hardy is a runt in that outfit. He looks like a real nice prospect, particularly at 16.

Would love to see Vilain commit this weekend, we need more explosive edge rushers. Also, I wonder if Hudson commits too if the staff offers.

I’m wanting Vilain too.
Watch his film at about 1:40. He blows past the Tackle responsible for him so fast, the kid’s head doesn’t even move until Vilain is into his third step. Seriously. I was so sure he jumped, I watched it three more times to be sure he didn’t. Whooee, he’s quick. Then, he’s got him a little swim move, can beat you inside or out, can stand you up, find the ball and go hit it.
Plus, he has the great name ….. I’m pumped.

Dude does have a perfect name for a DE, in addition to his explosive first step. Need more guys like him and Uche on defense.
