2020

Jalen Berger – RB – Ramsey (NJ) Don Bosco Prep: Berger, who attends Jabrill Peppers’ former powerhouse program Don Bosco, is a 6’0″, 187 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #5 athlete, and #50 overall. He’s pretty slightly built for a running back and plays a few different spots, so he could end up at a lot of different positions (RB, slot receiver, CB, or S). So far he has two crystal ball picks for Ohio State. He was at Michigan on Wednesday.

Braiden McGregor – DE – Port Huron (MI) Northern: McGregor is a 6’5″, 248 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, and Notre Dame, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #11 strongside end, and #199 overall. He claims a 5.06 forty and a 4.69 shuttle. Michigan leads the crystal ball with 80% of the picks, including the last six.

A Few Thoughts on Rounds 1-3

Devin Bush, Jr. (image via Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

Devin Bush, Jr. – LB – Pittsburgh Steelers (Round 1, #10 overall)
I think Pittsburgh is a great fit for Bush. When Bush was projected to go to the Steelers at #20, I thought it would be a good fit, but I didn’t know if he would last that long. The Steelers traded up to #10, and for good reason, because he would have been gone. I think Bush will become a cornerstone of that franchise.

But his draft night suit was awful:

2019 NFL Draft Preview: Michigan

Devin Bush, Jr. and Devin White are battling to become the first LB off the board (image via Broncos Wire)

This is one of the most exciting NFL Draft seasons for Michigan fans in years, probably even surpassing the 2017 draft when Taco Charlton was taken in the first round, Jourdan Lewis seemed like a borderline first rounder, and several others were drafted. A couple players are expected to go in the first round, and another player is considered to be one of the top few players at his position.
