Visitors: Michigan vs. Michigan State

October 14, 2015

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy tight end Isaac Nauta is one of many elite players scheduled to be in town.

I have shortened down some of the writeups this week for the sheer number of prospects visiting. It’s a huge recruiting opportunity for Michigan.

2016
Korey Banks – WR – Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek: Banks committed to North Carolina in July after being offered by the Wolverines. He unofficially visited in the spring and reportedly had a great visit, but the Tarheels pulled him in, anyway. Michigan was initially recruiting him as a wide receiver, although he could also play cornerback.

Donnie Corley – WR – Detroit (MI) King: Corley said he will probably make it. He is strongly considering both Michigan and Michigan State, so it would make sense for him to check out the game.

Dylan Crawford – WR – Rancho Santa Margarita (CA) Catholic: This is Crawford’s official visit.

Hit the jump for lots and lots more visitors.

Jean Delance – OT – Mesquite (TX) North Mesquite: This is Delance’s official visit. While most expect him to stay in or around Texas, he is the best lineman on Michigan’s board right now, in my opinion.

Conner Edmonds – TE – Germantown (WI) Germantown: Edmonds is a 6’5″, 240 lb. prospect with an offer from Air Force.

Bailey Edwards – WR – Chelsea (MI) Chelsea:

Chris Evans – WR – Indianapolis (MI) Ben Davis: Michigan commit.

Devery Hamilton – OT – Baltimore (MD) Gilman: Michigan commit. He will probably be at the game for an unofficial visit, although it’s not 100%.

Lavert Hill – CB – Detroit (MI) King: Rumors continue to swirl that the Penn State commit will flip to Michigan sooner or later. His older brother, Delano, is a junior safety for the Wolverines.

Lamar Jackson – S – Elk Grove (CA) Franklin: This is his official visit.

David Long, Jr. – CB – Los Angeles (CA) Loyola: Long is committed to Stanford, but Michigan was in his top group before he selected the Cardinal. This is his official visit.

Terrell Lucas – DE – Miramar (FL) Miramar: A Buck linebacker prospect, Lucas has long targeted this date for an unofficial visit. At one time he was strongly considering a commitment to Michigan, so it would not be surprising if he dropped for the Wolverines as long as he still has a committable offer.

Isaac Nauta – TE – Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy: Nauta, who was previously committed to Florida State, is now considered to be a strong lean to Georgia. However, he has family in Michigan, and the Wolverines might be the next best bet behind the Bulldogs. This is his official visit.

Quinn Nordin – K/P – Rockford (MI) Rockford: Nordin is the #1 kicker in the country, according to the 247 Composite rankings. He committed to Penn State in July, but Michigan has continued to recruit him.

Michael Onwenu – OG – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Michigan commit.

Jeb Palka – WR – Saline (MI) Saline:

Brandon Peters – QB – Avon (IN) Avon: Michigan commit.

Chase Pine – LB – Williamsburg (VA) Lafayette: Pine is a 6’4″, 220 lb. prospect who is committed to Pitt (and former Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi). He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #52 outside linebacker, and #755 overall. I really like Pine’s game as a Buck linebacker. Michigan has not offered yet but may do so on the visit.

Armani Posey – WR – Detroit (MI) King: King is a 6’1″, 180 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He is a teammate of the other King prospects (Corley, Hill, Ambry Thomas) and, according to some, has had the most impressive season so far.

David Reese II – LB – Farmington (MI) Farmington: Michigan commit.

Sir Patrick Scott – CB – Upper Marlboro (MD) Riverdale Baptist: Michigan commit.

Erik Swenson – OT – Downers Grove (IL) South: Michigan commit.

Abdullah Yaseen – CB – Oak Park (MI) Oak Park:

2017
Keegan Cossou – TE – Greenville (MI) Greenville: Cossou is a 6’5″, 225 lb. prospect with a lone offer from Central Michigan. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #23 tight end, and #596 overall.

Zac Darwiche – OG – Dearborn (MI) Fordson: Darwiche is a 6’4″, 270 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Carter Dunaway – TE – Bloomfield Hills (MI) Brother Rice: Michigan commit.

Ja’Raymond Hall – Oak Park (MI) Oak Park: Hall is considered to be a Michigan lean.

Rodney Hall – QB – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Hall is a 6’2″, 195 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

K.J. Hamler – WR – Orchard Lake (MI) St. Mary’s: Hamler is considered to be a Michigan State lean.

Chase Hayden – RB – Collierville (TN) St. George’s: Hayden is the son of Aaron Hayden, a former Tennessee and NFL running back.

Derrick Hubbard – LB – Ann Arbor (MI) Pioneer: Hubbard is a 6’2″, 202 lb. prospect with an offer from Toledo. He’s a Scout 3-star.

Corey Malone-Hatcher – DE – St. Joseph (MI) St. Joseph: Malone-Hatcher is a 6’3″, 246 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan and Ohio State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #8 weakside end, and #173 overall. He is injured and out for the remainder of his junior season.

Emani Mason – OG – Detroit (MI) East English Village:

Dylan McCaffrey – QB – Littleton (CO) Valor Christian: McCaffrey is a 6’5″, 200 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Penn State, and UCLA, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #4 pro-style quarterback, and #79 overall. The son of former Stanford and NFL receiver Ed McCaffrey and the brother of Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, Dylan is Michigan’s top target at the QB position for 2017.

Donovan Peoples-Jones – WR – Detroit (MI) King: Peoples-Jones is a 6’2″, 192 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan and Ohio State, among many others. He’s a 247 Composite 5-star, the #2 wide receiver, and #17 overall.

Charles Reeves, Jr. – TE – Steubenville (OH) Steubenville: Reeves is a 6’5″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan and Ohio. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #11 tight end, and #343 overall.

Jordan Reid – OG – Detroit (MI) Cass Tech: Reid is a 6’3″, 260 lb. prospect with offers from Florida and Tennessee, among others.

Joshua Ross – LB – Orchard Lake (MI) St. Mary’s: Ross is a 6’1″, 210 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Oklahoma, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #5 inside linebacker, and #134 overall.

Antjuan Simmons – LB – Ann Arbor (MI) Pioneer: Simmons is a 6’1″, 205 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others.

Allen Stritzinger – RB – Warren (MI) De La Salle: Stritzinger is a 6’0″, 180 lb. prospect with offers from Michigan and several MAC schools. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #25 running back, and #326 overall. He has named Michigan his favorite.

Kurt Taylor – RB – Covington (GA) Newton: Taylor is a 5’9″, 200 lb. prospect with offers from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #35 running back, and #484 overall.

Ambry Thomas – CB – Detroit (MI) King: Thomas is a 5’11”, 165 lb. prospect with offers from LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #12 cornerback, and #132 overall.

Delvin Washington – QB – Detroit (MI) East English Village:

Jason Whittaker – QB – Rockford (MI) Rockford: Whittaker is a 6’5″, 195 lb. prospect with no offers at this time. He is a teammate of Nordin’s.

J’Marick Woods – S – Florence (AL) Florence: Holds a Michigan offer.

Russ Yeast – WR – Fremont (OH) Ross: Yeast, the son of former Kentucky wide receiver Craig Yeast, is committed to the Wildcats.
