Name: Trevor Keegan

High school: Crystal Lake (IL) South
Position: Offensive tackle
Class: Freshman
Jersey number: N/A

Keegan was a big-time prospect for Michigan to land, and it happened fairly late in the process. He committed in mid-December and then signed early. He ended up as a 247 Composite 4-star, the #16 offensive tackle, and #176 overall. Despite his high ranking, I see him as a prospect who probably needs a few years to develop. Many people thought Chuck Filiaga was going to come in and play immediately, but now he’s entering his third season and expected to be a backup once again, so it takes time, even for elite prospects. Michigan has enough depth on the offensive line to let Keegan redshirt this season.
Prediction: Redshirt

Each of these serve as a reminder about the excellent state of the OL.
That gets me excited and thinking optimistically. Assuming RT gets figured out, OL will be a huge strength, along with QB and WR. If Evans returns (and I would guess the program finds a way to make this happen) the only real weakness on offense will be TE – which is far from a problem just kind of average (McKeon/Eubanks/Mason).
The cupboard is full. The table is set. Gattis has about everything a new offensive coordinator could ask for. But the schedule is demanding and so are the ‘dinner guests’.

I think Trevor Keegan is going to turn out to be a great player, and get drafted.
