Da’Qualen “D.Q.” James – RB – Lancaster (TX) Lancaster: James is a 5’7″, 180 lb. prospect who’s committed to Hawaii. He did not sign during the early signing period, but Michigan has not extended an offer yet. He’s a 3-star, the #20 all-purpose back, and #1781 overall. As a senior in 2020, he ran the ball 82 times for 1,404 yards and 22 touchdowns. Personally, I know Michigan needs defensive tackles and cornerbacks, but aside from that, I don’t mind late additions of “athletes” who can come in and play a variety of positions.

Ovie Oghoufo – OLB – Notre Dame: Oghoufo, from Farmington Hills (MI) Harrison, is listed as a 6’3″, 240 lb. defensive lineman for the Fighting Irish but is more of an outside linebacker. He made 10 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 2 pass breakups during the 2020 season. Michigan loses weakside end Kwity Paye to the NFL this off-season and did not have much of a pass rush. The Wolverines offered him out of high school, but he did not seem to seriously consider Michigan. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Nyles Pinckney – DT – Clemson: Pinckney is a 6’1″, 300 lb. defensive tackle who has one year of eligibility remaining. Originally from Seabrook (SC) Whale Branch, he was a 4-star, the #34 defensive tackle, and #327 overall. He made 22 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 1 sack during 2020.

Jordan Williams – DT – Clemson: Williams is a 6’4″, 310 lb. tackle with two years left. He went to high school at Virginia Beach (VA) Cox and was a 4-star, the #12 weakside end, and #167 overall in the 2018 class. He made 8 tackles and 1 tackle for loss in 2020. Neither Clemson player was offered by Michigan coming out of high school.
