PICK THE SCORE: Over on the message board, I have posted a thread for you to earn a prize if you pick the correct score of Thursday’s NCAA Tourney game (LINK).
My friends, the 2022 offer board has been unveiled. It seems kind of crazy since it’s almost literally four (4!!!) years away from National Signing Day 2022, but that’s where we are right now.
Brunswick (GA) Brunswick wide receiver Syveion Ellis was offered by Michigan. He’s supposedly 6’4″ and 182 lbs. right now, so your guess is as good as mine whether he plays wide receiver, tight end, linebacker, safety, or defensive end. But here are some highlights to show you what 8th grade football looks like:
Martin (TN) Westview quarterback Ty Simpson was offered by Michigan. He’s 6’1″, 170 lbs., and this is his first football offer. He’s also quite a baseball player and considering playing baseball in college, too. His father was an all-conference pitcher at Southern Miss, and he also happens to be the head coach at Tennessee-Martin. Ty visited Michigan last Tuesday, which is when he picked up the offer from the Wolverines. I don’t have any highlights for Simpson, so you’re just going to have to settle for a video of Cody Paul:
FYI: Cody Paul was a highlight star back in 2007, but he went to D-II Chadron State for college when no FBS or even FCS schools offered him. At 5’5″ and 170 lbs., he was a backup running back, kickoff returner, and punt returner. He had a solid college career, finishing his senior year in 2016 with 485 rushing yards (6.1 YPC) and 4 touchdowns, along with 21 punt returns for 351 yards (16.7 yards/return) and 2 touchdowns.

Speaking of little backs. Do you know what happened to Kaiser Carlton? He’s gone from Western.

I haven’t heard anything. I thought he would stick around there.

That kid should go into body building. Not many love the weight room like he does.
He wasn’t jittery enough for a small back. I’m guessing somebody with a college body got him lined up.

Kurt Taylor might like it more. He can now squat over 600 and leg press 900. (hope those numbers aren’t exaggerated, like happens so many times)
Here’s a picture from almost 3 years ago, when he was 17:

No offense, but do you have some kind of personal connection to Kurt Taylor? I think you’ve mentioned him a few times, so I wonder if you know him.

No, but I’m impressed with his story. He had a broken leg at one time, and his father had to push him to school in a wheel chair for a long time. The break was so bad he couldn’t even use crutches. But look at where he is now. I guess I’m praying for him, and pulling for him.

I’m probably commenting about him too much. Sorry bout that.
