The month of July is apparently a terrible time to miss a week of recruiting updates for the current class, because over 40 Michigan targets pledged to schools over the past two weeks. To break it up a little bit, I parceled the news into two separate posts: today’s offensive recruiting update and a defensive update coming tomorrow morning.
OFF THE BOARD
Hit the jump for more.
Chicago (IL) Mount Carmel running back Darrion Dupree (4-star, #32 RB, #366 overall) committed to Wisconsin. He had an official visit lined up to Michigan, but I think the combination of Michigan landing Jordan Marshall and pushing for Micah Ka’apana helped to push him toward Wisconsin, where the only other running back commit is Gideon Ituka, the #79 running back and #1048 overall.
Loganville (GA) Grayson center Waltclaire Flynn, Jr. (4-star, #20 IOL, #267 overall) committed to UCF. Michigan seemed to have a good shot at landing him, but then they accepted a commitment from Jake Guarnera (LINK), who is pegged for center in this class.
River Rouge (MI) River Rouge wide receiver Nick Marsh (4-star, #16 WR, #99 overall) committed to Michigan State again. He committed to Michigan State in July of 2022 and then decommitted back in March.
Copperas Cove (TX) Copperas Cove offensive tackle Michael Uini (4-star, #9 OT, #145 overall) committed to Georgia. He took an official visit to Michigan and things were looking good for the Wolverines, but a visit to Georgia a week later changed things for the worse (from a Michigan perspective). He would have been Michigan’s highest rated offensive line commit, three spots ahead of Andrew Sprague (LINK).
