COMMITMENT

Buford (GA) Buford running back Christian Turner committed to Michigan (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019

Bowling Green (KY) South Warren defensive tackle Jacob Lacey was offered by Michigan when he visited campus last Thursday. He’s a 4-star, the #7 defensive tackle, and #124 overall to 247 Sports. Kentucky, Louisville, Penn State, and Tennessee have also offered the 6’2″, 300-pounder. He’s sawed off at 6’2″, so it will be interesting to see whether he grows a little bit or not.

Hit the jump for a few players who committed elsewhere, along with some random bits.

OFF THE BOARD

Mt. Holly (NJ) Rancocas Valley running back Iverson Clement committed to Florida. He’s the #17 athlete in the country and could end up at RB, WR, CB, or S in college.

Owasso (OK) Owasso safety Joshua Proctor committed to Ohio State. I certainly didn’t think Proctor was in danger of picking Michigan, but he’s an elite athlete that I wished would stay away from Columbus. I think he’ll be a good one for the Buckeyes down the road.

Detroit (MI) East English Village center Tyrone Sampson, Jr. committed to Syracuse. Sampson didn’t have an offer from Michigan, but he did visit for the spring game and he’s a local kid. He’s also a 247 Composite 4-star, the #3 center in the country, and #280 overall. It will be interesting to see if Michigan offers him down the road. A lot of people have been asking why the Wolverines haven’t bee more involved, but at 6’3″, 295 lbs., he’s a little undersized and limited to the center spot. Michigan took the #1 center in the country in 2017 in the form of Cesar Ruiz, so unless he gets injured, the center position is in pretty good shape from 2017-2020. Also, Michigan’s centers under Jim Harbaugh have been the 6’6″ Graham Glasgow, the 6’5″ Mason Cole, the 6’5″ Patrick Kugler, and the 6’5″ Cesar Ruiz. Harbaugh likes big linemen across the board.

Ft. Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas cornerback Asante Samuel, Jr. committed to Florida State. His dad went to UCF, was a 4th round pick of the Patriots, and went to the Pro Bowl four times.

MISCELLANEY

Here’s a list of recruits who are visiting this week (LINK).

And here’s the group of players who were in town for the spring game (LINK).

Las Vegas (NV) Bishop Gorman quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson will announce his college decision on Saturday, April 23. My Crystal Ball has been on UCLA for several weeks.

I’d have taken being sawed off at 6’2″.
