What am I watching? I’ve been binge-watching Banshee on Prime Video. I started a few months ago when I had some time and saw the first three episodes, but then the holidays hit, and time vanished. It originally aired on Cinemax and ran for four seasons. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s about an ex-con who escapes and then cons his way into becoming the sheriff of a fictional town in Pennsylvania called Banshee. It’s a good mix of violence and sex.
What am I googling? I have been looking up different ways to block inside and outside zone. We tried some inside zone stuff but we weren’t as good at it as we had hoped, so I’m looking at different ways to block it, different RPOs to run off of it, different motions, different formations, etc.
What am I looking forward to? I’m looking forward to what everyone should be looking forward to this weekend: Super Bowl LIII, the Patriots vs. the Rams. I’m not a fan of Super Bowl parties, because I actually like to watch the game rather than be distracted by conversations. Usually I make Buffalo Chicken Dip for the Super Bowl, but this year I want to try something else for a change. I’m not sure yet what I’m going to make, but usually it’s just one big thing since, you know, the no party thing.

Perry attended Bloomfield Hills (MI) Brother Rice as a part of the class of 2015, and he was a teammate of quarterback Alex Malzone (who went to Michigan before transferring to Miami-OH). Perry caught 105 passes for 1,727 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior. He really wanted a Michigan offer, which didn’t like it would come, so he committed to Northwestern in December of 2014. When Jim Harbaugh was hired in late December, he started trying to put together an improved class. Two days before National Signing Day in February, Harbaugh called up Perry and offered him a scholarship, giving him the opportunity to drop the Wildcats in favor of the Wolverines. I gave him a TTB Rating of 71 (LINK).

Former Michigan basketball players Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway, Jr. were traded from the New York Knicks to the Dallas Mavericks in a huge trade involving Kristaps Porzingis (LINK).
The NCAA has banned Missouri from the post-season next season and taken several other steps to impact their recruiting (LINK). Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for UNC, Miami, and Michigan State to see any notable punishments…

Bryce Austin – DT – Southfield (MI) A&T: Austin is a 6’2″, 280 lb. prospect with offers from Boston College, Michigan State, Missouri, and Pitt, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star, the #22 defensive tackle, and #314 overall. He visited Ann Arbor last weekend and was given the offer while on campus. He’s a teammate of 2020 quarterback Anthony Romphf, whom Michigan offered a couple weeks ago.
Brian Branch – WR – Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek: Branch is a 6’0″, 175-pounder with offers from Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #26 safety, and #442 overall. As a junior in 2018, he had 5 interceptions, 15 catches for 368 yards and 3 touchdowns, and 2 kickoff return touchdowns.
Gary Bryant, Jr. – WR – Corona (CA) Centennial: Bryant is a 5’10”, 160 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and USC, among others. He’s a 4-star, the #17 wide receiver, and #75 overall.
