Don Brown (Head Coach, UMass): UMass started off 1-0 with a 41-30 victory over NMSU, which is a good start after a 1-11 season in 2022.
Brady Hoke (Head Coach, San Diego State): SDSU beat Ohio by a score of 20-13 to start off the year 1-0.
Rich Rodriguez (Head Coach, Jacksonville State): Jacksonville State – being rebranded as Jax State – started off 1-0 in its first season as a part of FBS with a 17-14 win over UTEP. Quarterback Zion Webb looked pretty bad throwing the ball (10/20, 67 yards), but he kept the offense moving with 55 rushing yards. Watching the game, the announcers said the temperature on the field was 130 degrees at one point in the first quarter. Gross.
