Sterling Heights (MI) Stevenson offensive tackle Giovanni El-Hadi committed to Michigan on Tuesday night. He picked the Wolverines over offers from Indiana, Iowa State, Penn State, and Purdue, among others.

El-Hadi is listed at 6’6″, 280 lbs.

Hit the jump for more on El-Hadi’s commitment.

El-Hadi was offered after visiting Michigan this past weekend, and it didn’t take much time for him to make his choice. He had no offers until February of this year, so his recruitment moved along very quickly.

El-Hadi has a nice frame to add weight, and he’s already filled out pretty well. He shows some nice feet and an ability to mirror pass rushers. He has an ability to keep a wide base and drive block once he latches onto defenders.

El-Hadi can be a little robotic in his movements at times, and he’s a little bit inexperienced. He needs to continue to get stronger and develop a nasty attitude.

Overall, El-Hadi is a good player. It will be interesting to see how his body develops over the next couple years. He could play multiple positions, but it’s difficult to project exactly where he’ll end up since he’s so young.

El-Hadi is the first 2021 commitment of the class.

TTB Rating: I won’t be handing out TTB Ratings until the 2020 class wraps.

A sophomore at 6’6? 280 with room to grow? I like it!

I agree – and seems to be pretty nasty to me for a Sophomore in my opinion.
