The NFL Combine video host said he believes Rashan Gary “will be a better NFL player than he was at the college level.”
One interpretation: “Because he’ll continue to grow in his awareness and skills.”
Or could the host have meant something different, like he was mis-used at Michigan, or because NFL defensive schemes fit his style better?

I think it’s more the second one. And I don’t necessarily think he was mis-used at Michigan. He was what he needed to be. He probably would have been more productive in 2018 if Michigan had defensive tackles who could flush guys out of the pocket and/or eat up double-teams, but instead teams could concentrate on sending help Gary’s way. You never know what team he’s going to end up on in the NFL, but if he’s playing with some other good linemen and can see some one-on-one blocks, I think you’ll see him stand out a little bit more.
