Rivals updated its top 100 prospects for 2017 (LINK). Here’s what it looked like the last time I updated, which was July of 2015 (LINK). The lone Michigan commit on the list is quarterback Dylan McCaffrey, who jumped from #100 to #45.
Beyond the jump are the rest of Michigan’s targets on the list.

I went back to look at McCaffrey’s scouting report to see what rating you gave him and realized you didn’t rate him at the time since you hadn’t completed 2016. Any upcoming plans to go back through and rate all the early commits for the 2017 class?
And with recruiting getting earlier and earlier, I don’t think it would be a bad idea to at least give them a preliminary rating range for future classes. Possible preliminary systems could be: High 70’s, B-, 75-79. As someone with no actual football background it can be hard to separate the easily fixable flaws from the career altering flaws or hurdles.

Do I have plans to do so? Yes. It probably won’t happen before the weekend, though. I’m resistant to “preliminary” ratings or rating guys too early. I don’t want my ratings to get too watered down or convoluted. I try to convey my thoughts on a player through my words. I don’t think adding a preliminary numerical rating would do much to help people identify easily fixable vs. career altering flaws.

Agree. I like the assessment done here, and getting the quantification later. It beats the “everyone is pretty good, no one is elite*”
*except JP & RG!
