Visitors: Michigan vs. Wisconsin

Alex Leatherwood

This might be Michigan’s biggest recruiting weekend of the year, since the MSU and OSU games are on the road. So here’s an early list of the visitors headed to Ann Arbor.

2017

Jordan Anthony – LB – Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy: Anthony is a 6’0″, 220 lb. prospect with offers from Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #7 outside linebacker, and #115 overall. Though he has played the last couple seasons in Florida, he’s a Maryland native. The Crystal Ball is 40% in favor of Michigan. This is his official visit.

Markquese Bell – S – Bridgeton (NJ) Bridgeton: I did a scouting report on Bell in April (LINK). He tweeted not long ago that distance is no longer a factor in his decision, which has made some people think that he’s leaning away from Rutgers and perhaps toward Michigan. UPDATE: Bell is no longer planning to visit.

Kenney “K.J.” Britt – LB – Oxford (AL) Oxford: Britt is a 6’0″, 232 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #15 inside linebacker, and #317 overall. So far his Crystall Ball is 67% for Auburn and 33% for Georgia. UPDATE: Britt is no longer planning to visit.

Hit the jump for a bunch of people who are planning to visit, I swear.

Baron Browning – LB – Kennedale (TX) Kennedale: Browning is a 6’3″, 230 lb. prospect with offers from every major program. He’s a 247 Composite 5-star, the #2 outside linebacker, and #9 overall. The U.S. Army All-American visited Michigan over the summer, and his older brother played cornerback for Jim Harbaugh at Stanford. The Crystal Ball favors Texas right now, and Michigan is considered a longshot. This is his official visit.

Brelin Faison-Walden – S – Greensboro (NC) Grimsley: Faison-Walden is a 6’1″, 200 lb. prospect who committed to Penn State in July; he also has offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #27 outside linebacker, and #442 overall. I think he might be underrated a little bit, and he could potentially play the SAM role at Michigan. This is his official visit.

Chuck Filiaga – OT – Aledo (TX) Aledo: Filiaga is a 6’6″, 335 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, and USC, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #16 offensive tackle, and #112 overall. The Crystal Ball is currently 78% for USC. This is his official visit.

Ja’Raymond Hall – OT – Oak Park (MI) Oak Park: Hall is a Michigan commit (LINK).

Chase Hayden – RB – Germantown (TN) St. George’s: Hayden is a 5’10”, 189 lb. prospect who committed to Arkansas in July; he also has offers from Florida, Michigan, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #4 all-purpose back, and #312 overall. He’s the son of former Tennessee and NFL running back Aaron Hayden.

Christopher Henderson, Jr. – CB – Miami (FL) Columbus: Henderson is a 6’1″, 175 lb. prospect who committed to Miami in February 2016; he also has offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and LSU, among others. He was a high school teammate of freshman linebacker Joshua Uche’s. UPDATE: Henderson is no longer planning to visit after a communication error, and it does not sound like he will consider Michigan going forward.

Joel Honigford – OT – Sugarcreek (MI) Garaway: Honigford is a Michigan commit (LINK).

Deron Irving-Bey – DE – Flint (MI) Southwestern: Irving-Bey is a 6’5″, 282 lb. prospect with offers from Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #13 strongside end, and #299 overall. His Crystal Ball is 57% in favor of Michigan State.

Donovan Jeter – DT – Beaver Falls (PA) Beaver Falls: Jeter is a 6’5″, 250 lb. prospect who committed to Notre Dame last week. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #12 strongside end, and #276 overall. Shortly before committing to the Fighting Irish, he said that he was once again strongly considering Michigan. With the Wolverines at 4-0 and the Irish falling to 1-3 recently, perhaps that could make an impression. It’s unclear if he still plans to follow through with his planned visit to Michigan since his commitment happened so recently.

Chris Kolarevic – LB – Traverse City (MI) St. Francis: Kolarevic is a 6’1″, 215 lb. prospect with no offers at this time.

Alex Leatherwood – OT – Pensacola (FL) Washington: Leatherwood is a 6’6″, 327 lb. prospect who committed to Alabama in June. He’s a 247 Composite 5-star, the #2 offensive tackle, and #5 overall. Michigan has been working hard to flip him, but he’s a longshot. This is his official visit.

Corey Malone-Hatcher – DE – St. Joseph (MI) St. Joseph: Malone-Hatcher is a Michigan commit (LINK).

Oliver Martin – WR – Iowa City (IA) West: Martin is a 6’0″, 188 lb. prospect with offers from Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #34 wide receiver, and #247 overall. His Crystal Ball is 53% for Notre Dame, but he visited there last weekend and left without committing.

Phillip Paea – DT – Berrien Springs (MI) Berrien Springs: Paea is a Michigan commit (LINK).

Kwity Paye – DE – Warwick (RI) Bishop Hendricken: Paye is a 6’4″, 226 lb. prospect who is committed to Boston College; he also has offers from Michigan, Rutgers, and Syracuse, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #45 weakside end, and #939 overall. As a junior in 2015, he had 54 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery. This is his official visit.

Shanon Reid – LB – Ft. Myers (FL) Dunbar: Reid is a 6’1″, 195 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona, Michigan, Mississippi State, and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 3-star, the #42 outside linebacker, and #408 overall. He plans to enroll early, and Michigan is recruiting him for the SAM linebacker position, which has a very good chance of being vacated by Jabrill Peppers after this season. This is Reid’s official visit.

Cesar Ruiz – C – Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy: Ruiz is a 6’3″, 315 lb. prospect with offers from a lot of big-time programs, including Michigan, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #1 center, and #66 overall. His Crystal Ball is 93% in favor of Michigan. He plans to announce his decision on December 18 before enrolling early.

Drew Singleton – LB – Paramus (NJ) Catholic: Singleton is a 6’2″, 215 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #3 outside linebacker, and #60 overall. He recently tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of his senior season. He has visited Michigan several times, and it seems to be a Clemson vs. Michigan battle with Michigan likely having the edge. This is an unofficial visit. UPDATE: Singleton is no longer visiting.

Jess Speight – C – Richmond (VA) Benedictine:

Shaun Wade – CB – Jacksonville (FL) Trinity: Wade is a 6’1″, 177 lb. prospect who has been committed to Ohio State since January of 2015. He’s a 247 Composite 5-star, the #3 cornerback, and #18 overall. The U.S. Army All-American is a teammate of currently Michigan fullback commit Chase Lasater. Alabama is also in the running to flip Wade.

Jedrick Wills – OT – Lexington (KY) Lafayette: Wills is a 6’6″, 318 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, and Notre Dame, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #10 offensive tackle, and #43 overall. His Crystal Ball is 82% for Alabama, and he has already cancelled several visits to Michigan.

2018

Matt Harmon – S – Gibraltar (MI) Carlson:

Bryce Houston – LB – Lewis Center (OH) Olentangy:

Bumper Pool – LB – Lucas (TX) Lovejoy: Pool is a 6’2″, 215 lb. prospect with offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, and Michigan, among others. He’s a 247 Composite 4-star, the #5 inside linebacker, and #182 overall.

Antwan Reed – OT – Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy: Reed is a 6’6″, 287 lb. prospect with offers from Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, and Tennessee, among others.
