I’m a little surprised that Erik Magnuson made the 3rd team in both categories. He was not a guy who stood out to me, although he also didn’t have as many huge gaffes as a couple other guys. I’m also a little surprised that Jehu Chesson made the 1st team for the coaches, because he was pretty raw at the beginning of the year. However, he rounded into form and was pretty darn good for most of the Big Ten season. In addition to his 8 touchdowns (tied for #2 in the conference), he had a 96-yard kickoff return TD against Northwestern, had a 66-yard TD run against Maryland, and played well on coverage units. His well rounded game may have helped propel him to 1st team status.
