SITE NEWS UPDATE: Thanks to Brian, Michael D., Michael Z., Moser, Oday, and Sean for your generous donations! As of Tuesday afternoon, I have collected $526.02 of the $1,250 bill for Flywheel’s hosting services for the year (LINK).

The Detroit News talked to 2020 recruits about a few things, including why they didn’t choose Michigan/Michigan State (LINK). It’s always interesting reading these responses.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2021

Markus Allen – WR – Clayton (OH) Northmont: Allen is a 6’2″, 190 lb. prospect with offers from Cincinnati and Pitt, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star, the #125 wide receiver, and #796 overall. He claims a 4.62 forty. Northmont is the alma mater of Michigan defensive end Gabe Newburg, but Allen recently transferred to Northmont, so the two players don’t know each other.

Khalil Dinkins – WR – Wexford (PA) North Allegheny: Dinkins is a 6’4″, 207-pounder with offers from a couple MAC schools. He’s a 3-star, the #74 athlete, and #829 overall. He has some solid ball skills, but I think with his size and the way he moves, he will probably end up as an H-back or outside linebacker. He reminds me of former Wolverine Ricardo Miller.

Hit the jump for more.

Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins – DT – Gaffney (SC) Gaffney: Ingram-Dawkins is a 6’5″, 290 lb. prospect with offers from South Carolina and Tennessee, among others. He’s a 247 Sports 3-star, the #29 defensive tackle, and #488 overall. He has a 4.53 shuttle and a 30″ vertical.

Maason Smith – DT – Houma (LA) Terrebonne: Smith is a 6’4″, 316-pounder with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, and Texas, among others. He’s a 5-star, the #3 defensive tackle, and #24 overall. As a junior in 2019, he made 82 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks.

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2022

Anthony Lucas – DT – Scottsdale (AZ) Chaparral: Lucas is a 6’4″, 279 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona State, Cal, and Nebraska, among others. He attends the alma mater of former Wolverines Taylor Lewan and Craig Roh. Lucas visited Michigan a couple weekends ago and was offered at the time.

OFF THE BOARD

Branden Jennings – LB – Jacksonville (FL) Sandalwood: Jennings committed to Florida State. He’s a 4-star and #39 overall in the 247 Composite.

Bastian Swinney – OT – Edina (MN) Edina: Swinney committed to Cal. He’s a 3-star and #590 overall in the 247 Composite.

MISCELLANEY

Rivals released its top 250 for the 2021 class, and E.J. Holland of The Wolverine listed some noteworthy Michigan targets (LINK). I used to track these more consistently, but I put too much time into it without getting many eyeballs or comments.
