Who’s signing a National Letter of Intent today?

For a quick reference, here’s a list of players who are signing their National Letter of Intent on the early signing day, which is December 20. This is the first year for an early signing period for college football players, so it will be interesting to see how many players around the country sign now, and how many of them carry it out until the beginning of February or longer.

Ronnie Bell, Wolverine

Kansas City (MO) Park Hill wide receiver Ronnie Bell committed to Michigan on Monday evening. He chose the Wolverines over . . . a basketball career at Missouri State.

Bell stands 6’1″ and 170 lbs. As a senior in 2017, he caught 89 passes for 1,605 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Essexville (MI) Garber FB/TE/LB Ben VanSumeren

Essexville (MI) Garber fullback/tight end/linebacker Ben VanSumeren flipped from Iowa to Michigan on Sunday afternoon. He chose Michigan over the likes of Cincinnati, Iowa State, Minnesota, and Missouri, among others.

VanSumeren is listed at 6’3″, 228 lbs. He runs a 4.5 forty and a 3.95 shuttle. He claims a 350 lb. bench press, a 570 lb. squat, and a 42″ vertical. He set a state record for catches with 85 this season, totaling 1,259 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns. That all came after he started the first two games at quarterback.

Aidan Hutchinson – DE – Dearborn (MI) Divine Child: Hutchinson is committed to Michigan (LINK). This is his official visit.

Chris Olave – WR – San Marcos (CA) Mission Hills: Olave is a 6’1″, 170 lb. prospect with offers from Arizona, Michigan, Ohio State, UCLA, and USC, among others. He’s a bit of a late riser and just received his Michigan offer in October. This is his official visit. UPDATE: Olave was not able to make it to Ann Arbor this weekend.

Jamien Sherwood – S – Jensen Beach (FL) Jensen Beach: Sherwood is a 6’2″, 195 lb. prospect who is committed to Auburn. He’s a 4-star, the #20 safety, and #238 overall. He has been an Auburn pledge since July, but he has taken visits to Florida, Miami, and Louisville. This is his official visit.

Ben VanSumeren – TE – Essexville (MI) Garber: VanSumeren is a 6’3″, 228 lb. prospect who committed to Iowa in early November. He’s a 3-star, the #51 athlete, and #630 overall. The coaching staff extended the offer after it was clear that Tommy Tremble would be committed to Notre Dame. This is his official visit.
