Before moving any further, it might be important for you to check out Michigan’s huge visitors list from this past weekend. Most of this week’s recruiting update is guys who committed elsewhere, but the visitors list is much more indicative of how Michigan’s recruiting right now. Here’s the list: LINK.

COMMITMENTS

Williamstown (NJ) Williamstown defensive end Aaron Lewis, Jr. committed to Michigan (LINK).

Brooklyn (NY) Erasmus Hall linebacker William Mohan committed to Michigan (LINK).

Oradell (NJ) Bergen Catholic safety Jordan Morant committed to Michigan (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2020

Jeffrey M’ba – DT – Oakdale (CT) St. Thomas More: M’ba decommitted from Virginia. He’s a 6’6″, 315-pounder who emigrated from France. He’s a 4-star, the #28 defensive tackle, and #320 overall with offers from Florida, Ohio State, and Penn State, among others.

OFF THE BOARD

Kobe Baynes – OG – Jacksonville (FL) Sandalwood: Baynes committed to Louisville.

Kevon Billingsley – DE – East St. Louis (IL) East St. Louis: Billingsley committed to Missouri.

Peny Boone – RB – Detroit (MI) King: Boone committed to Maryland. Despite being an in-state prospect, the Wolverines were not in heavy pursuit of Boone, who is a bit larger (230 lbs.) than most of the prospects Michigan is recruiting hard at the position.

Beau Brade – S – Clarksville (MD) River Hill: Brade committed to Maryland. He was supposed to officially visit Michigan this past weekend, but he committed to the Terps beforehand and didn’t make the trip.

Joshua Braun – OT – Live Oak (FL) Suwannee: Braun committed to Georgia.

Michael Carmody – OT – Mars (PA) Mars: Carmody committed to Notre Dame. He’s a 4-star and #134 overall. I expect him to have a very good career for the Fighting Irish.

Jaden Dottin – WR – Suffield (CT) Suffield Academy: Dottin committed to Penn State.

Cal Haladay – LB – Catawissa (PA) Southern Columbia: Haladay committed to Michigan State, the first prospect in the 2020 class to pick the Spartans over the Wolverines. (Full disclosure: Rivals says he had a Michigan offer, while 247 Sports does not.)

Ty Hamilton – DE – Pickerington (OH) Central: Hamilton had been considered a Michigan lean until Ohio State recently offered, and then it seemed like only a matter of time until he committed to the Buckeyes. And that time came last week.

Deshawn Jones – CB – Akron (OH) East: Jones committed to Cincinnati.

Bangally Kamara – LB – Akron (OH) East: Kamara, like Brade, was supposed to visit Michigan this past weekend, but instead he committed to Pitt.

Claude Larkins – DE – Hollywood (FL) Chaminade-Madonna: Larkins committed to Minnesota.

Sol-Jay Maiava – QB – Washington (DC) St. John’s: Maiava is originally from Hawaii, but he moved to the continental U.S. last year to play for St. John’s. He threw some of his touchdown passes in 2018 to Michigan incoming freshman Quinten Johnson, but the Wolverines were not really recruiting Maiava anymore. He committed to BYU.

Miller Merriweather-Lewis – OT – Ocala (FL) Trinity: Merriweather-Lewis committed to UCF.

Tirek Murphy, Jr. – RB – Middle Village (NY) Christ the King: Murphy is a pretty big recruiting win for Purdue, since he’s a 4-star, the #18 running back, and #218 overall.

Jake Newman – S – Bellflower (CA) St. John Bosco: Newman committed to UCLA.

Henry Parrish – RB – Miami (FL) Columbus: Parrish committed to Pitt.

Kobe Pepe – DT – Bellflower (CA) St. John Bosco: Pepe committed to USC as soon as the Trojans offered him.

Clark Phillips III – CB – La Habra (CA) La Habra: Phillips committed to Ohio State.

Marcus Rosemy – WR – Ft. Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas: Rosemy committed to Georgia.

Roger Rosengarten – OT – Littleton (CO) Valor Christian: Rosengarten committed to Washington.

Trenton Simpson – LB – Charlotte (NC) Mallard Creek: Simpson committed to Auburn.

Ozzy Trapilo – OT – Boston (MA) Boston College: Trapilo committed to . . . Boston College. Surprise!

Derek Wingo – LB – Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas: Wingo flipped from Penn State to Florida. He’s a 4-star and #165 overall.

Corey Wren – WR – Harvey (LA) John Curtis: Wren committed to Georgia.

MISCELLANEY
