I have to say this now before Brendan Rice commits. I DO NOT WANT HIM. This has to be 99% marketing push for UM to get Jerry Rice on campus than it is for Brendan. His hands are abysmal. I haven’t seen a WR fight the ball as much since Mike Williams played for the Lions. He’s HUGE and a good frame but if you’re WR can’t catch the football, no thanks. I can’t believe he’s even a 3 star. Like I said, if Jerry Rice wants to come and help recruit kids to UM, great, but I think there would be a better chance of that if his kid wasn’t a WR.

Interesting. I’m not a huge fan of (Brenden) Rice for other reasons, but I don’t really see him fighting the ball too much. He snags a lot of catches away from his body. Usually people who fight the ball try to make body catches whenever possible.

I’m guessing you’ve seen him play in person in order to make this judgment. It’s certainly a possibility, because highlight videos are just that – highlights. But I don’t see evidence of that on film.

Haven’t seen him in person just watched the 247sports video posted. The first minute it looks like UM might have found something… then the last 1:30… YIKES! Drops and double catches. Honestly, I haven’t seen much video of him so I’ll look at more. He definitely has a big body so size isn’t an issue. Just seems very stiff.
