COMMITMENT

Fairfield (OH) Fairfield tight end Erick All committed to Michigan (LINK).

Westlake Village (CA) Oaks Christian running back Zach Charbonnet committed to Michigan (LINK).

Kentwood (MI) East Kentwood defensive tackle Mazi Smith committed to Michigan (LINK).

Columbus (OH) St. Francis DeSales linebacker Joey Velazquez committed to Michigan (LINK).

ADDED TO THE BOARD: 2019

Oakland (CA) Freedom running back Giles Jackson was offered by Michigan. He’s a 5’8″, 175 lb. prospect with offers from Oregon, UCLA, and USC, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #8 all-purpose back, and #727 overall. He claims a 4.53 forty, a 4.01 shuttle, a 35″ vertical, and a 265 lb. bench press. He took an official visit to Michigan this past weekend, just a couple days after being offered by the Wolverines.

Dunlap (IL) Dunlap tight end Josiah Miamen was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’4″, 225-pounder with offers from Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern, Notre Dame, and Penn State, among others. He’s a 3-star, the #64 weakside end, and #912 overall, though the Wolverines are looking at him as a tight end. He earned his offer at Michigan’s camp a week ago, and then he took an unofficial visit this past weekend. Steve Wiltfong subsequently put in a crystal ball pick for Michigan.

Hit the jump for several more updates from the past week.

Silver Springs (MD) Sidwell Friends offensive tackle Walter Rouse was offered by Michigan. At 6’6″ and 285 lbs., he projects to tackle at the next level, and Michigan has said they want one more linemen to go along with the five already committed. He’s a 3-star, the #62 offensive tackle, and #675 overall, with offers from Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Stanford, among others.

Belleville (MI) Belleville defensive end Tyrece Woods was offered by Michigan. He’s a 6’2″, 225 lb. prospect with offers from Cincinnati, Temple, and a bunch of MAC schools. He’s a 247 Sports 2-star, the #105 weakside end, and #1975 overall. He had been playing linebacker earlier in his career and transitioned to defensive end last season at Detroit (MI) King, but he’ll be at Belleville for his senior season.

OFF THE BOARD

Macedonia (OH) Nordonia cornerback Nyles Beverly committed to Purdue.

Cincinnati (OH) Walnut Hills defensive tackle Jowon Briggs committed to Virginia. This is a huge commitment for the Cavaliers, who don’t generally get high-level recruits.

Buford (GA) Buford offensive tackle Carter Colquitt committed to Ole Miss. Teammate Harry Miller recently committed to Ohio State, so that’s a stacked program. (Michigan incoming freshman running back Christian Turner is also from Buford.)

Miami (FL) Columbus tight end Gary Cooper committed to Indiana. They beat out Florida and Ole Miss, which is pretty impressive for the Hoosiers.

Vero Beach (FL) Vero Beach defensive end/outside linebacker Jahfari Harvey committed to Miami.

Fort Myers (FL) Dunbar defensive end Derick Hunter committed to Florida State.

Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei tight end Mike Martinez committed to UCLA. Michigan had just offered in the last few weeks, so there wasn’t much time to build a relationship.

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy offensive tackle Justin Osborne committed to Auburn.

Charleston (MS) Charleston cornerback DeAntre Prince committed to Ole Miss.

St. Simons Island (GA) Frederica Academy cornerback Jashawn Sheffield committed to Auburn.

Baton Rouge (LA) Dunham cornerback Derek Stingley, Jr. committed to LSU. Stingley had named Michigan to his top ten, but he never visited Ann Arbor. He has drawn a lot of comparisons to Patrick Peterson.

Stone Mountain (GA) Stephenson linebacker Tra Wilkins committed to Kentucky.

St. Louis (MO) St. John Vianney running back Kyren Williams committed to Notre Dame. He was supposed to take an official visit to Michigan this past weekend, but a visit to South Bend the previous weekend caused him to set his announcement for Thursday, canceling the official to Michigan.

MISCELLANEY

Here’s a list of visitors from this past weekend (LINK).

Suwanee (GA) North Gwinnett cornerback D.J. Turner II and Stuart (FL) Martin wide receiver George Johnson III are scheduled to announce their commitments this evening.

That unbalanced-ish line thing, direct snap bit of sneaky sure worked like a charm that time.

Yeah, that was pretty funny. We’ve been working on a lot of unbalanced line stuff this off-season, and I went to a clinic session centered around running unbalanced stuff, funky formations, etc. I’m looking forward to seeing how well the stuff works this fall.
